Guest guest
Hi Everyone! A month or so ago I was moaning about not being able to eat ANYTHING without having gas issues. Well, now I know why. Also, I was having this thing happen that I thought was just normal for a DSer. I would wake up some mornings with terrible abdominal cramps which would go away after pooping, which sometimes took awhile. The last time it happened it lasted over an hour and a half and I thought I would have to go to emergency. So, Dr. K ordered a CT Scan and it turns out I have a redundant colon. It can cause gas, bloating, abdominal pain, nausea, etc. Well, I have the first three. The abdominal pain is intermittent but the gas is ALL the time now. It certainly doesn't make it any better now that I know why it's happening but at least I understand it. I was blaming myself constantly and I no longer do that anymore, which at least helps my psyche. Someday in the future there will be another major surgery in my life because I refuse to live this way forever but I can deal with it for awhile now that I know what's going on. Just thought I'd throw it out there in case someone else is having these issues, even with a proper DS diet.
Guest guest
Tracey Thanks for sharing the info. How long does Dr. K say you can wait for surgery? I'm worried that since you have pain... I'd hate to see you end up in crisis mode. Keep us informed. Hugs Jo > Hi Everyone! > > A month or so ago I was moaning about not being able to eat ANYTHING without having gas issues. Guest guest
Keep on the insurance company; I had to live with the pain for a year! Before I had surgery with Dr. Z. Redundant colon is a medical concern that if I you have it you were born with it. Best, Renie Re: Found the source of my issues Tracey Thanks for sharing the info. Guest guest
Hi Jo, I actually need to see Dr. K sometime soon. The problem is that I have other issues I must deal with first and so taking the time to go see him will take some juggling of my work schedule. I'll get there before the year is out, though. His email didn't indicate that it was urgent to see him immediately. Thank you for caring! Hugs! Tracey > > Tracey > > Thanks for sharing the info. How long does Dr. K say you can wait for surgery? Guest guest
Hi Renie, Is it only something that someone is born with? Would Dr. K have seen that when he did my surgery because he's never mentioned it until now. Don't worry, if he tells me I need to have surgery right away I will most definitely be bugging the crap out of my insurance company! Hugs! Guest guest
Oh, and so sorry to hear that you've been dealing with the pain for so long! My pain is intermittent at this point. It must be terrible to deal with it all the time. Hugs! Tracey > > Keep on the insurance company; I had to live with the pain for a year! > Before I had surgery with Dr. Z.
