Guest guest
We have had our 7 year old on intuniv for 2 months. It has helped his focus and there is less fighting with his siblings. It does make him sleepy in the afternoon only major negative we have seen.KimSent from my iPhone just wondering which is better for a 4 year old with adhd, aggresion and meltdowns. Has anyone had experience with one or both? Thanks
Guest guest
We tried Intuniv last year with my then six year old. He is highly ADD and does have aggression and meltdowns too. It didn't work at all. He is on Respidol and Focalin now. My son started Focalin at age 4. Guest guest
I just started taking Intuniv and it has been excellent for my problem with having short patience. I realized that my patience issue stemmed from being ADD and being very upset with all the hubbub going on around me (I have 4 children- LOL!) I am amazed at the difference in myself. BUT, I take that in addition to another medication for anxiety and have not tried weaning off the other. I think the aggression medications work on different areas than the Intuniv. I'm not sure my DS could do without the medication he takes for agression, the Intuniv works on his concentration. (Yes, " Dr. Bates " I know I am just ruining him by giving him medication.) Anyway, you may have to do some trial and error to get an idea of what works for your child. Talk therapy, changing my own behavior and responses and other methods have helped DS deal with his situation as well.
