renie,

I get the newsletters from this site. It is a good site as far as FM

goes. It is hard dealing with a syndrome that lots of docs do not believe in.

Plus, I see people who claim to have FM and do stuff that would be impossible

for me to do. I have a high tolerance for pain, but when the pain is

unrelenting and you are basically home bound with it, you get depressed and I

have

gotten where even the good periods are not enjoyable because I am expecting it

to end....You know waiting for the inevitable.

My biggest worry now is the numbness that is not typical of FM and is

in all 4 extremities and worse at times. I can't figure out the change. For 12

years now docs have told me FM is not progressive, doesn't get worse but

that has not been my experience. Has this been the same for you?

Have you considered the numbness in your extremities could be from

your Menetriers? Causing a loss of intrinsic factor thus lack of B

vitamins?

Here are some " cut and Paste's " from

http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/dci/Diseases/prnanmia/prnanmia_all.htm

l

Nerves. A lack of vitamin B12 can damage nerve cells and cause

problems such as tingling and numbness in hands and feet and problems

with walking and balance. A vitamin B12 deficiency can cause changes

in taste, smell, and vision. Finally, it can cause mental changes,

including memory loss and confusion.

Nerves and Brain

In addition to tingling or numbness in the hands and feet, signs and

symptoms of problems with the nerves may include difficulty walking,

unsteady movement, and loss of balance. There can be changes in

vision, taste, and smell. Memory loss, confusion, depression, and

even psychosis can develop.

I read some where back in the old days to cure anemia they would put nails in

water let them soak and then drink the water because the iron had leached into

the water.

Also we don't cook in cast iron skillets like we use too. I wonder how many

nails it would take for us!!
