Hey Jan,

I think that is just a wonderful idea. I did ceramics many years ago

and used to like to do the dolls and figurines with all the little

detail in them, but my vision would not allow me to do that anymore.

The paints I have are also acrilic. and even a new set of brushes to

go with them. the colors though are somewhat depressing and would

like some bright cheerful colors. I have painted a desert scene on a

corkboard believe it ot not. This was before I got so bad. I enjoy

doing scenery pictures as it seems you can not go wrong. Nothing is

perfect in nature that is what is so perfect about

it......Hugs....Patti

Patti, my husband's vision is not good, as I told you

about his lack of depth and spacial awareness . He

certainly can't do details. He paints everything one

color, he chooses the color. I think it is just good

to have him do an activity and he enjoys the painting

with me. I have his things as a keepsake now of who he

is now. At Easter he painted a bunny ceramic all brown

and it turned out looking just like a chocolate candy

bunny, so I put some Easter grass on a plate with his

bunny on it, it was very cute!

Your scenery painting of the dessert sounds very nice.

you are very talented!..................Jan

Hi jan,

I think it is wonderful that you took the time and patience to do

this with him and it will bring you many good memories of him in the

future always. I am a bit of a silly person I always have been and

will probably get sillier or at least I hope that is the way it will

go as then perhaps I can bring some happy moments to others lives. I

know I have been rather serious here on the boards, but I am working

my way through the diagnosis and I feel that it is only normal. I

hope no one stops me though from my silliness as it makes me laugh

and pray others will laugh with me and try not to be too emabarrassed

by some of the things I might say or do. somehow it still makes me

feel alive. Once we give that up then we have accepted the inevitable

and succumb to it. There is a point where that happens I am sure. I

suspect many of you have seen it as I have. I think eventually we

just tire of the fight and life no longer has much meaning for us as

we are no longer an active part. This is strictly my own opinion from

observations I have made in my nursing career. So enjoy the moment

and always remember you must look after yourselves or you will be

doing neither you or your loved one any good.....Hugs...Patti

patti,

anything handmade, painting, cross stitch, needlepoint, nothing is perfect,

thats the beauty of it, so paint whatever you wish, if you want the sky

violet and the sun green so be it, nothing is wrong with the imagination, go for

it
