Guest guest
Thanks , I am so happy. I hope this goes pretty smoothly. I already am feeling a bit overwhelmed, because I dont know how im gonna handle Colton and a newborn. Im due in less then 2 weeks. I dont know if I can handle all this....... ------------------------------ >Congrats, Sara - I'm glad you were able to get the doctor to make the referral for your son. Hoping that you get the information you need and that the process itself doesn't take too long or become overwhelming. Just remember that you can always vent in here ;-) > > >> >> >> We finally got Coltons dr. to listen to us. And all we had to do is bring my mom.... Really? I guess having someone else in the room made her want to do her job. She gave us a refferal to a university. She said today she can really see autism/aspergers symptoms in him. And thinks it would be a good idea to have an autism specialist evaluate him further. His head is now caught up with his body size. But he hasnt gained weight in 3 months. She did say she thinks his head size just has to do with him being small. Hes 16 months and only 20 lbs. So maybe he will be small like me. I feel like a weight has been lifted and hes finally gonna see someone who knows what they are talking about. >> -Sara >> > >
Guest guest
Yes you will cope better than you think!!! My 2 were 14 months apart and my son was dx at 7yrs! At least you know what you might be dealing with. Having 2 kids close in age and especially 1 with ASD is HARD , but i look back at that time with fondness and love now ,time goes very very quick. Mine are now 6 and 7 xxxxxxxxxx Hang in there - you can do it. My two boys were 22 months apart and we had a tough time b/c we did not know what was going on. You have a head start and hopefully you have access to some additional support/help since you mentioned your mother going to the docs office with you. You are stronger than you know, Sara :-) > >>> >> > >> We finally got Coltons dr. to listen to us. And all we had to do is bring my mom.... Really? Guest guest
Thanks , its just really hard cause I havent been able to take my meds since being pregnant. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder when I was 22. Along with severe depression and and anxiety. So all that plus his issues then anotber baby on top of it. Just seems like so much. Cant wait to hurry up and have this baby.so I can get back on my meds. Then maybe it wont seem so bad. ------------------------------ >Hang in there - you can do it. She works full time and has my brother and sister living with her. I think I just need to think about one thing at a time, but its hard cause theres so much going on. Cant wait to be back on my meds... ------------------------------ >Oh gotcha...so maybe a bit more overwhelming right now, lol - Can you ask your family for extra support in the beginning? Hoping you can... > > >> > > >> > > >> > > We finally got Coltons dr. to listen to us. And all we had to do is bring my mom.... Really?
