HEllo everyone; I know it's been quite a while since I've written, I

have been reading the daily digest of e-mails, though. I just wanted

to let y'all know that you're in my prayers, and also that I am going

in for surgery on 6/18. I am having an opoid pump implantd in my

abdomen for pain relief. It's like a hockey puck sized disk in my

stomach with a catheter that goes to my spine to slay that evil

dragon in his tracks. I hope everyone is doing well, and if anyone

wants info in intrathecal pumps for pain reduction, feel free to

email me. God Bless! _

, we surely do wish you well and you will be in our prayers! If

you are up to it, please share a little more about this pump and your

decisions to get it [is it temporary? what med does it release? etc.].

I know nothing about these pumps but am very interested. thanks, Louise.

Hey ,

WATCH OUT !!!!! You said that opoid pump is about the size of a HOCKEY PUCK right??

We got a few hockey players in this group that are well known for high sticking. Just would not want to see you get all black and blue from these rascals going after that puck. Good luck with the pump and let us all know if it does the job for you.

Hi ,

Nice to hear from you! Sorry that the pain isn't giving you a break.

You have been through so darned much. Hopefully this "opiod pump"

will be the answer to controlling that pain! The 18th is not far away.

How long will this surgery take? I have heard of something like this

being put near a persons spinal area, but never the stomach. ..oh

that's right you do say there's a catheter that goes to the spine. This

just sounds so interesting to me , if & when you feel up to it,

would you share a little more info avbout it with us please? Maybe

after the surgery...let us know how it's working? Is it like a dose of

Morphine being continually pumped out?

Much love & many prayers for you dear .

Your Wisconsin friend,

Tricia

p.s. couldn't resist putting this picture here....

is this better? lol...
