Guest guest
Lynn, This situation sound all too familiar. My grandpa went into a nursing home a short while after he had surgery. He pulled all the fire alarms, bit a nurse (sent her to ER) and bit me too. He had no clue what he was doing. His had to do with medications and being in an unfamiliar place. He did not like the fact that every time he had to get up an alarm went off, and the nurses would not take him to the bathroom when needed. We took him out of there. The difference was 100%. He improved immensly at home and no longer needed 24 hour care. This was a little while ago. His LBD has progressed a lot since then, but he is still at home with more care and hospice as well. What medications is he on??? I know that with my grandpa everytime he got out of hand they gave him haldol, this just increased the symptoms because it counteracts with LBD.
