Guest guest
Hi all, It's Alice in the UK. Lori...your post on 24 Jan really hit home, even the way you found ocd, whilst agonising over the anger and acting out. As a complete novice, I'd agree that the new therapist seems much better, and am surprised just because, I've been campaigning for my daughter to see a woman (many obsessions and compulsions are " genital " -based). I have to prepare for it to be a very long process, but at least we will have started at last. Ami (13) is currently weekly boarding. She was boarding 2 nights only last term, but because I was finding early recovery from addiction tough, and she's very challenging, she's trying weekly, and quite happy. BTW I am now 13 weeks clean and sober!!!! Anyway, last week I got a " breakthrough " text message: Hey mum, I told friends about that kind of problem I have with touching objects, because I was being annoying at night " . This is a double whammy...she's opened up to friends, and brought up the subject with me. A while ago she also said she still wanted to see someone about being scared. This gives me a chance to introduce the going to see a doc thing..... Will try next w/e, but am not going to push any conversation for now, as its weeks to the appt. Thanks all of you for your wonderful posts. lin...I LOVED " Welcome to Holland " Love Alice UK >

Guest guest
Alice: Congratulations on being sober for 13 weeks -- what a great accomplishment! Keep up the good work! It sounds as though Ami is doing better, too. Tamra
