Because you were able to deal with your diabetes through diet and exercise and

then an oral med, chances are it won't come back for a long time if it does at

all. I am one of the people that it did return and I took two oral meds and

insulin and never had it under control. I was diabetic free for 4 years and I am

happy even if it did come back. I can control it now with diet and one oral med.

I just hope I never have to go back on insulin is all.

Hi,

I have been reading about some of the people on the list that have had their

diabeis return...I never reached a good weight...I still consider

myself still very over weight...I have gone down from 487lbs to where

I am presently at 270 lbs...

My question is. Can I be at risk for it to return since I am still so heavy? I

had it prior to the DS..I was handleing it for years with diet alone..then last

last few years before the DS I had to take oral medication.. .I would really be

devasated if it returned..My Mother and sister died from the illness...My sister

died at age 46...But she didn't know she had it...She lost her leg and eye

sight...

Wondering and worring...

Thanks,
