Guest guest
txmarion, your physician said words of wisdom that rarely are said outloud by anyoine in the medical field. Neurologist told me that IF one with these type neurological illnesses does NOT get enough sleep and they become fatigued, NO MEDICATION is going to do what it's supposed to do to help the person. how true that statement i s, i am chronically ill and i can honestly relate to that. keep your spirits up. sharon m a smile a day keeps the meanies away. Guest guest
> Don't know if I already passed this info on to you but we're in our 8th year here; my Jerry is bedfast 1 year now at age 69. > We went through MANY, MANY occasions of nervousness, anxiety, panic attacks and " fidgeting " and he used to be the most LAID-BACK human being yet born....took everything in stride. > Well, Trazadone, Haldol, Risperdol did nothing but increase his problems and caused him to NOT sleep. Trazadone made him " spin " all night long as in rolling over and over in same spot. That was scary... > For a long time now, he's 100 mg. Seroquel, 1.0 Ativan and 300 mg. Neurontin (for seizures) at bedtime and he sleeps. > Neurologist told me that IF one with these type neurological illnesses does NOT get enough sleep and they become fatigued, NO MEDICATION is going to do what it's supposed to do to help the person. > That surprised me but, from MUCH experience, I know it's a fact. > I had always thought a pill went in and it went about its business " fixing what was wrong " but, not so. > Best to all. > TXMARION That is very interesting and useful info regarding sleep and the effectiveness of meds; I had no idea. Mum sleeps a lot in the day (cat naps she calls them ) and claims to be sleeping well at night, but the odd time she complains that she just cannot sleep at all at night and says it is always like this. Could the lack of sleep be whats causing the shift in mood - one day going good, the next back down again, or is moodiness one of the common symptoms of LBD? .
