Thank you to all who has responded. I am going to sign off of this support

group. I believe you are a very tight-knit group. You support one another and

your kind. I think you have missed few minor points, there is a whole world out

there that is suffering. Although Stills creates havoc in ones life, it doesn't

dictate who we are and our believes.

Best of luck to all

Hi Michele,

I did notice that in one of your posts to the group you mentioned you were on chemo

for Cancer. I am sorry that I didn't ask you more about your situation, but if you have

noticed, I haven't posted much of anything lately. You see my mom (who is 85) and

suffering dementia's is dying. She refuses to eat and is now down to only 85 pounds.

I have been very, very busy trying to visit with her as much as possible, also my husband

and I were taking care of my mom's two cats for many weeks. On top of all that, I had

to remove my Fentanyl patch as it has been causing me to sweat almost constantly.

I imagine by morning I will be shuffling in pain. Also, I have to be in court again tom.

for the appointment of a permanent guardian for my dying mom. I have been at several

meetings with Social Workers, doctor's etc. over the past weeks. You see, my two

brothers *think* we can care for mom at home....this is a long story..but, we can not.

Sorry about your problems not being addressed Michele, but I don't even think you

shared with us where your Cancer is, or how severe it is...so I assumed as I'm sure

others did, that you didn't want to share this info. Or did I miss something else?

If the points missed were indeed minor...then why the fuss? Trust me, I do think that

we all realize there are a lot of people suffering in the world, we can only try to help

so many at a time.

I disagree somewhat about the statment that you made that "although Stills creates havoc

in one's life, it doesn't dictate who we are and our beliefs." Stills has been dictating how

I live my life for the past 30+ years, and it has caused me to believe there are many kind

and loving people who love me even if I am sick and in pain. Had Stills not "dictated"

that I would be "disabled" most all of my life...I would have been able to hold down a

job, done volunteer work, shared more in "pet rescue work.." and the list goes on....

however..*please know* I am NOT bitter or angry. I also feel that the Stills has made me

more aware that there is so much suffering going on in the world. It doesn't take many

visits to the Mayo Clinic to figure that one out!

May you find the peace and comfort you seek...I am sorry we "missed those minor points."

From Wisconsin,

Tricia

So much incredible support from you all, it's amazing and

appreciated so much.

I slept like a top (go figure) after seeing Sam and getting so upset.

I woke late, had no time to think and went into my meeting confident.

I just said straight out, I want my job, I think I have a good 5

years left, I want you to say straight out if there is a position

open for me that does not insult my intellegence and reflects my

past efforts and length of service. As much as I want and in fact

need a job, I will not however be insulted and treated badly, my

dignity is at stake and I would rather leave today.

He said he still saw my roll and position as vital to the structure

of Council. He was not aware what was happening within my department

and would not approve of it.

I told him I acknowledge I could do extra tasks and was happy to do

so but would not be the 'ball boy' on the engineering 'team'.

(My exact words were 'they said they want me to be part of their

team and my reply was every team has a ball boy, don't think I will

be your's).

I also told him I had lost faith, trust and respect for my managers

and would prefer if my section where transfered to another dept. He

agreed in principle and suggested I speak with this other Manager (I

already have) who was away ill today. He will also speak with him to

sort out if it is viable.

Bottom line,

I will return to work next Tuesday to my former job. He will

attempt to have the position classified under another dept. mean-

time.

I am not expected to be given menial and insulting duties and I will

definitely not be required to work under the young female engineer,

in fact, he indicated that she is likely to be moved to another

section or back where she came from. He was not happy that she was

working in my section, which he also had not been made aware.

All in all I felt okay when I left his office but now I will have to

wait and see the reception I receive next Tuesday when I return.

There has been no loyalty extended to me by my boss/friend and today

first time ever, I extended none to him.

The GM asked where all this was coming from and I was up front, I

said power lust and beefing up ones own position and status at my

expense.

So now it's wait and see but I do feel happier knowing I put my side

accross and knowing he is aware of what is happening .

Still feel shit about Sam, I'll get over it, I know he is not worth

my thoughts and caring.

Thank you all for supporting and encouraging me. You are great

friends and I am grateful.

Whew, that all sounds promising and

encouraging, you must be feeling very drained. If it is not normal council

procedure may I suggest that you ask the person you met with today to type up a

summary of your meeting including the outcome of his talks with the other

manager. That’s coming from too many years working in the government and

having to dot your I’s and cross the T’s, however in the government

a typed summary of the meeting was always produced without having to ask for

it.

Good luck Maree, I hope you get what you

want, you deserve it.

I've had the pneumonia-shot around three times in my lifetime.

I 'know' that people are 'told' that it only takes ONE shot,....

Somehow, I had/have a hard time believing 'that'-!

Now, since I've had it several times over the course of a number of

years,....

I'll opt to NOT have it again,...unless otherwise informed/directed

by health-professionals..etc.

Once, I had a flu-shot AND a Pneumonia-shot at the same time-!

I was SO MUCH more 'ill-feeling' than just the flu-shot,....

NEVER-AGAIN-!..............

not true,, some pneumonia shots only last for 3-5 years, some are 10 year shots,, ask which type and dose they want to give you before you decline,, DUG wrote: I've had the pneumonia-shot around three times in my lifetime.I 'know' that people are 'told' that it only takes ONE shot,....Somehow, I had/have a hard time believing 'that'-!Now, since I've had it several times over the course of a number of years,....
