Guest guest
Hi I have been following your progress, you are doing so well, you must be delighted with yourself. I didn't notice much difference with my first fill either, the second made a bit of difference and then the third one, - well that hit me like a truck !!!!. It is a constant learning curve with what and when we can and can't eat, it even changes from day to day. Keep up the fantastic work Hugs Raewyn
Guest guest
Hi , My older daughter(non OCD)(well possibly has a mild form, but not a big deal) is definitely an over achiever. She has been identified as gifted. I don't really think she is though. Also, for her being a twinless twin, I have done alot of research, and they say many twinless twins are misdiagnosed as gifted when they are just trying to compensate for their other half, and like you mentioned with the others having ocd, etc, it makes things so tough!!!! She is really getting so moody now, with the teenage years fast approaching!!!(phew!) Hugs judy

Guest guest
Judy, I grew up in Newington, CT (right outside of Hartford) and I know the New Haven area well. I am very glad your son is going to get some more specialized help, and I am very sorry your insurance does not work there. I guess they will take payment plans and possibly they will be able to help you with the payments, seeing as how they are a large facility and not just an individual doctor's office. Do you think he has ADHD or that he is just reacting to all that he has to deal with. Poor little guy ... is he back in school or are you keeping him home? I'm so sorry, Judy. Kind Regards, in TN jchabot wrote: Hi , Thanks for asking and thinking about me! My son is not well. When I took him to the psychiatrist the doctor saw how hyper he was acting and wanted to add another med-one for ADHD. I almost lost it. I said, " Absolutley not! I don't think meds are the answer here. He is a 6yr old little boy " I went on and on " After a few minutes, the doctor walked over and shook my hand and said, " Your a good mom " " You are right, your son needs better than me " This was not what I was trying to say. I just think my son needs more help. Anyway to make a long story short, the psychiatrist told my husband and I that my son is the worst case of OCD he has ever seen in a small child in his 30 yrs of practice as a pediatrician and child psychiatrist, and that he was going to refer us to Yale New Haven Child Study Center, which is about a 3 hour drive one way. (It is the best around though) we have no choice. This is what we have to do. We have an appointment next month , and unfortunately they don't take any insurance. I don't know how we are going to come up with the money, but we'll have to figure something out. Once again, thanks for caring ! Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for asking, but no, he is getting worse. I made an appointment with his old psychologist for Monday just to get him back to reality. This doctor does CBT, but he mixes it in with talk therapy. I'm praying this might help. I wouldn't say he's as bad as when this all started when he was 4, but he's really bad. He says " sorry " and " Do you believe me " about every minute. When I refuse to answer(which I don't know what to do about this seeing he is only 6) he tantrums and cries etc, etc.How do I not answer him when he asks if I love him? He is so confused! Guest guest
Hi , thanks for asking about my son. I had an appt with a team of specialists for him but had to cancel because they wouldn't except my insurance. I'm so P*##@*!!!!! We pay $800.00 a month for insurance and they won't take it, so we simply cannot afford it. I did find another team of specialists in Hartford, CT that can see him but I can't get him in unitl OCT.The funny thing is that he seems better today and yesterday. I think it's because today is the last day of school , and only half days! He is still going to his therapist and psychiatrist, so I'm just taking it day by day. I'm also keeping a daily journal on him for when October rolls around. We'll see what the summer brings! Maybe his anxiety is just so high with school. I also think he needs another med change. He is not currently on any med for OCD, so I really don't know what to do. His psychiatrist mentioned Anafranil, but when I told the psychologist about it, he said he'd rather see me hospitalize him than put him on that med. I don't know !!(sigh!!!!) Any words of wisdom??? I feel like all the decisions have been dumped in my lap for me to make. These doctors cannot even make a correct diagnosis, which is the same thing that happened with my daughter. How are you and your family doing??????? Hugs Judy
