Guest guest
Thought I would write a catch up about my son Marty and my grandson Lucas. Well with Marty I tipped him over on his back in his transport chair and he broke his collar bone. I feel so guilty. He has been having these spells in the bathroom like he is going to pass clear out and had this one after he had sat on the toilet a bit and we got him up to put a Depends on him, he just started to black out. So grabbed the transport chair, and I thought that maybe raising his feet would help since his face was so white, and he tipped over! The blood did get to his brain laying there on his back like that with his legs in the air tis true. We did not know he was hurt as he did not cry out, the next morning though his whole shoulder was swollen and bruised so we took him to the ER for x-rays and sure enough. Tomorrow I have to call an ortho doctor to see how bad it is, or if anything needs to be done. Usually the do heal on their own. He doesn't seem to be in much pain unless we move him, and he does mostly sit so that is good. I put a sling on his arm to walk him to the bathroom and we did bathe him on the bath chair today rather than putting him down in the tub. The did and EKG and his heart was fine, but did find his Depokote was a little high he takes for seizures so could be causing the blacking out.. It is just all very stressful to me anytime he is hurt and has to go to the hospital. And my grandson Lucas, he was away on a 5 day trip with his mom dad, brother and sister. They went to Sumpter, Oregon to be part of a flea market. My daughter bought a snow cone trailer last spring and they pulled it up there and she sold snowcones for two days and made over $1,000. But I was worried about Lucas, come to find out he loved his other grandparents he hardly ever sees and mostly sat in their house and rocked on the love seat. His mom said he had NO meltdowns, we had told him he couldn't act that way and had to be polite and we are so glad he was. I didn't see them today but talked briefly to Lucas on the phone just now. I wanted to ask him about the mining train ride he took with his dad through the mountains. He loves trains and model trains, but the whistles usually scare him. So I made a noise like the train when I asked him about it, and he just now said VERY seriously, " Did you hear it down here? " I think he thought I did! Oh yes when I asked him if it was fun, he said, " It was a looooong ride. " It was about 7 hour ride home on a busy curvy two lane highway bumper to bumper, next to the McKenzie River out of the mountains on Labor Day with cars pulling boats and campers passing one another!! Just so GLAD they made it and Praise the Lord for answered prayers! Carolyn, Oregon ;o) School starts on Wednesday!
