Guest guest
The Dr. is having me increase Mom's Seroquel until she sees her on the 23rd. I am not sure what good that will do...it seems whenever she sees the geriatric psychiatrist she is pretty calm, although maybe she won't be this time, who knows!? She was on Ativan in the past and we took her off when my niece who is a nurse said it was not recommended for the elderly especially those with dementia because it can cause increased confusion/agitation. That is when she was put on the Seroquel. She is so much more confused now and not eating like she has been. I assume it is the disease progressing. She is sleeping all night, usually from about 7 or 8 until 8 in the morning. She absolutely refuses to rest during the day, though, and takes no interest in anything. She just sits in her chair and looks out the window. Sometimes she will watch a Cubs game. I get her out on the weekends to run errands with me and sometimes we go to my grandson's and granddaughter's baseball games. She enjoys being around children so much. She seems so unhappy most of the time, I just wonder if I am doing enough. I don't know what else I can do. Thanks for listening again and thanks to everyone for your suggestions. Bless you all, M
