Melodie,

I had a tummy tuck, along with hernia repair, abdominoplassty, and

belt lipectomy (or lower body lift) 18 months after my DS. I also

had a breast reduction with implants, bracioplasty, and a face lift -

3 different sugery days, each about a week apart. My surgery was in

Curitiaba, Brazil with Dr. Cavalcanti. Everything went well. No,

insurance did not pay, so I went out of country as it was much

cheaper than here in the US - and I'm including planefare and 5 weeks

of hotel costs in with the surgery fees.

The tummytuck was painful - more than my DS it seemed, but then I

walked two blocks back to my hotel less than 24 hours after the

surger, and was not using IV pain meds. Breasts and arms were a

piece of cake, but then no muscles were involved. The facelift was

also fairly easy after the first 24 hours - I just looked pretty bad

for a few days (actually scared a kid at breakfast in the hotel

restaurant one morning)

The only complication was finding out my body does not tolerate the

type of stitches used, and Dr. K just removed them a couple of weeks

ago - very rare complication. I'm dealing with that post-op right

now.

I do want to say that Dr. K is very similar in personality and

approach to care for his patients as my doctors in Brazil were -

there they say " you are not my patient, you are now my friend for

life " and they mean it.

If you want any other information you can e-mail me at dglinzak at

yahoo.com. Good luck, and good for yu doing your research.
