****Marie,

How wonderful for you that you have learned about this at your age.

I too, knew there was something wrong with nada - but didn't

understand that it had anything to do with mental illness.

You are correct about society's expectations. But I am glad that you

have a good response to it. Yes, nada did do it to herself, and my

criteria is - how do I respond to and treat the person who abused me

when I was a child. Society should be directing their comments to

her,and asking " How could you do that to your son/daughter? "

Take care of yourself,

Sylvia

Holly,

I'm 37yrs. I have one child who is 4. I too have extreme fatigue!!

My MD is referring me to Dr. Purvis?? (not too sure of name) in

borough who is a rheumatalogist. My Dr. said she is very smart

and that is who she would like me to see. No appt. as of yet.

This Fri. my husband and I are seeing a NaPro Technolgy dr. in

Toronto. regarding my miscarriages but we are hoping light will be

shed on this EN.

Major joint pain and swelling in my ankles, I'm not able to walk.

It is managable while on prednisone but better when I'm off my feet

Oh ,

You're soooooooo lucky to get into Dr Jane Purvis!!! She is the best! I've

heard so much good talk about her. She is very smart! She sees a lot of

Lupus patients too. She is in the Medical Center on Charlotte St in PTBO.

I'm sorry to hear that you're not able to walk. My EN hasn't returned to

the unambliatory state - Thank goodness.

Hope you're able to get some answers at your appt on Friday.

I would suggest to you to ask him to, my Panniculitis started at the same

time at smear test was done and they found a stomach bug. Which at first

noone considered it may have had a correlation.

at had similar symptoms of bad malaise and no energy.

It can't hurt to see if this is true in your case.

Cheers Ian

Good to hear from you Patti and to hear that things are 'steady'.

Your so courageous to write on this site, first hand information such as you can

give is invaluable. My sister is 54 so I am so sad that you are struck with

this disease so young, there's never a good age of course but 56 seems quite

cruel.

However you have courage and faith, and you have that most important of things -

a family to support you, encourage you, and keep you going. I'm sure anything

you can tell us first hand about the disease will be so important to others and

I hope for you it's useful to be able to come right out and talk and tell us how

it is.

Thinking about you often & sending hugs & good wishes to a very brave lady.

Kathleen - Scotland.

Hello

I thought I would drop in and say hello. I am about the same.

Ocassionally forget how to do something like unbuckle a buckle or

something, but that is not real frequent. Some days are better than

others. I get irritated really easy and it seems it is over little

things. Also I am getting more paranoid about things. It is a rare day

that I can write poetry. I just can't seem to get calm enough to do it.

For those of you that are new I have LBD. I will be 56 in May and I

have trouble accepting the diagnosis, but the indications are there. I

willl go back to my Neuro in May and hope to get the results of the

most recent MRI's. I have great admiration for those of you who have to

deal with a family member who has this horrid disease. It takes alot of

strength to deal with it and I have told my children this. I have

gotten most things squared away wiith them and they know what to expect

or I think they do. I don't think there is ever a way to be totally

prepared for this at least that was my experience with my mother.

God bless you all....Hugs...Patti

Thank you Patti,

for keeping us updated. I've been thinking and worrying about you,

even though we've never met! I think you're very brave and kind to

allow us such a precious peek into the world where our loved ones

live. It helps me a lot, and hopefully may help me help my mother even

better too.

I hope the knowledge that you've touched hearts even as far away as

Norway will make your day a little brighter.

Dear ,

Thanks for sending in the detailed info. I added it to your " Case

History " in our Files section.

I do indeed feel that the accident is related to the EN.First of all

there was the stress of it, and we have many members who feel that

stress tends to bring out EN. Then the meds you were on might have

been triggers. Naproxen is on the list of triggers, as are many

antibiotics. The rod may have caused an allergic reaction too.

You are right in that we all are different. Some will have long

remissions, and others not. Some will have horrible joint pains,

others don't. I too get EN in only my left leg, and I think it looks

worse than it feels. I have quick remissions without having ever used

meds.

One cosmetic tip I can offer is to wear stockings if the discoloration

is your only concern about wearing skirts. I like to wear white

stockings which tends to hide the redish cast that my left leg has

even when lumps are not present. I use a TEDS anti-embolism stocking

on my left leg, and I even wear it with shorts. For some reason people

are even nicer to me when I wear that odd " fashion statement " . At this

point, fashion is a non issue and function is more important to me.

Honestly, I doubt anyone but you (and your son) is looking at your

legs. I'm sure you are beautiful in spite of a few leg bruises.

Love,

hi steve,

well, there is a familar name. welcome aboard steve. i hope

rebecca's group can be of assistance to you. we get into a lot of

different discussions relative to en, pg, sarc, ibd and so forth.

you won't find a more cool host than rebecca. rebecca is a " hands

on " type of person and you will see her involved everyday. she

really likes reseach and riding around at home depot in a gulf cart

thingy...oops, well, that's another story...lol...couldn't help it

rebecca :-) we have some fun in here too, as you can see.

rebecca's pic idea is a great one. i have pics of my pg in the forum

as well. en and pg along with aphthous stomatitis (canker sores) are

the most common forms of skin issues relative to ibd (according to

the CCFA), although still rare. there are others, likely even more

rare, but they have their ties to ibd as well. have you ever been to

a dermatologist?

take care,

jeff

Hey Jeff,

Thanks for the heads up on this group. I get canker

type sores from time to time. They don't last very

long though, thank God. I'm going to try and get some

photos together this week.

Good to hear from you.
