I have not tried Canola (rapeseed) sprouts. And with any luck I never will! To

each his own I guess; but *ew*. I hope I never get that hungry. Of course I am

old and grew up before Canola or GMO. Ann.

Melody!So glad you are back. I hope your troubles with verizon have permanently

been resolved.I don't sprout rapeseed and rarely use canola oil. We try to stick

to extra virgin olive oil.You were missed Melody! npreparing for the

husband's football Sunday with the guys and still in her PJ's

Aren't they related to sunflowers I read if you grow the greens they are bitter.

It's also a type of mustard, so rapeseed and broccoli rabe, and all of the other

cruciferous vegetables all are in the same general plant family. I'm sure that

they would be okay to sprout but getting seed that hasn't been adulterated by

Monsanto's rape might be difficult. (That was a deliberate choice of wording by

the way.) How can you be sure that it's organic, genetically pure seed?

I had canola seeds in a sprout mix I bought once.  Because it was a mix, I'm

not sure, but I think the canolas came out very small and mild tasting.  A lot

of them got wasted because they rinsed away with my rinse water, as they were so

small, compared to the other sprouts.
