Guest guest Posted February 6, 2009 Report Share Posted February 6, 2009 I found it interesting that on 2-5% of Ds patients were candidates for a revision...that is a much lower number than the RNY. Also that making the stomach smaller was more effective than shortening the small intestines. Interesting stuff. On the Bone disease...Calcium Citrate seems to win the debate more often than not. I'd encourage folks to play it safe and use Citrate as your primary source of calcium. I also found it interesting that he said to sacrifice your Iron levels before you sacrifice your calcium levels as it is easier/better to get Iron infusions than to get calcium infusions.
