.I know a bit about homeopathy and haven't heard about this with crops. I

haven't any idea what it would do for sprouts, but hopefully someone else will

chime in here.:) marion

There are a few homeopaths that work extensively with plants and farms.

Biodynamic farming is all about it. I am just learning about the farming part

have been using herbs and homeopathics for years.

Hi . Interesting topic. From what I have seen, there are mixed opinions as

to whether adding nutrients to the soak water has any effect on their

nutritional value and how robustly they grow/ thrive. Some feel that all the

potential -at least from a sprout point of view-is in the seed itself and adding

nutrients wont make much of a difference. I myself often add some nutrients to

the soak water as well as to the water supply in my auto sprouter as I feel if

the sprouts are taking up water-the nutrients will taken up by the sprouts/

seeds as well. Can't say for sure if it makes a big difference as sprouts grow

pretty well with or without the nutrient additions. I also can't comment on

whether adding nutrients to the initial soak will have an effect on the

nutritional makeup of the growing seeds. I've seen similar products to your

Thalassa Mix on ormus related sites. I'm currently using Ocean Solution as an

additive. You peaked my interest in this product now. I wonder what type of an

effect it would have on the vibrancy of herbs and greens growing in my

aerogarden unit?

Biodynamic Sprouting

I am currently studying biodynamic farming for an herb garden I am planning

and found that they spray the area with a couple of homeopathic products to

increase the life force of the fields. I also found a place to purchase the

compounds. Has anyone applied any of these biodynamic methods to sprouting?

I found this product called Thalassa Mix and plan to apply it to the ground

and the plants I grow in the garden but wonder if adding a drop of two to the

first soak of Broccoli seeds would increase the life force of the plants thus

enhancing the health benefits?

Will say that with the WinterCat mix, when you buy it as a kit, you get a

seakelp concentrate to add (although it will grow without that) -

Well the only way to find out is to try it. My Thalassa mix will be here

sometime this week. I will do two jars of Broccoli sprouts one with and one

without and see if there is any difference in the growth rates. I did ask the

folks that sold it to me and they said it was perfectly safe to use on sprouts.

I will let ya know if they are bigger, greener and even tastier!

Hey ,

Loads of info online regarding Steiner and Biodynamics -

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rudolf_Steiner

<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rudolf_Steiner>

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biodynamic_agriculture

<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biodynamic_agriculture>

and plenty of leads from those two-

I spent some time on a biodynamic farm years ago, some basic theory and

practice was taught, but most of what they did, and why, they could not

explain other than circular mumbo-jumbo arguments as " proof " - such as

'stir seven times each clockwise and counter clockwise' -- I soon

decided the folks that ran the place were less interested in biodynamics

and more interested in being " Leaders " in their own little commune.

[/:)] -- Suffice it to say they did not like intelligent questions

anymore than your average Preacher.

OK, sure, you can impart your Zen and Karma and Good Vibes etc but I

expect mostly the reason for such stirring is to ensure thorough mixing

- the compost teas etc MUST be well mixed - but it matters not one whit

whether stirred 7 or 8 or 9.9 times, or if clockwise first or last,

unless we are talking Wicca and then stuff apparently must end " deosil "

unless undoing a Circle in which case some teach " widdershins " , but

others deosil again. - but that is " beyond the scope of this lecture " as

my old Professor would say [:-B] --

-- I also expect applying nutrient solution, the compost tea, to the

soil and plantings (and maybe therefore sprouts?) would be more effected

by the phase of the moon.

Perhaps you could run a basic science experiment set-up --- Control

Group, New Moon, Full Moon, etc etc etc on down the list of variables -

and let us know your results? :)
