Guest guest
Go girl!! Sure it will take a lot, but you have the fire burning within, so you can accomplish it. See how much better off we can be once we accomplish getting our health in order. Now you can help others. We will be lookiing forward to your graduation. Guest guest
Hello in Oregon: I'm from Oregon, too. Born in Wash State, but grew up in Oregon, and I'm a U of O graduate, BA and MA. In 1970-71 I was ASUO student body president. Now I'm a federal retiree (from the Foreign Service). MY DREAM is to eventually get in financial shape enough to buy a beach house in Oregon, where I would live during the summer (while DC is a Turkish bath), and I would spend the winters in mild DC, while avoiding the heavy winter rain on the coast. I don't think it's too late to insist on ever higher goals. Besides, I probably extended my life by having the GRDS surgery! No, no, never, diabetes for me! It killed many people of my mother's generation, including her. . I LOVE Oregon, God's country, and hope to get back there on a semi-permanent basis in the next few years. Meanwhile, I have to finish converting an apt house I own here on Capitol Hill to condos, and get them sold. That's all part of the financials of it. I'm still the single parent of four, and grandmother of three, so THAT all figures in to it, as well. My oldest daughter is in her final year of residency (Family Practice) in a Baltimore hospital, and I have a friend who recently completed the physician's assistant course here in the East. It's hard work, no doubt about it. I'm so happy we have a physician online who regularly contributes to these discussions (that would be Marta, right?). Nice to meet you. Sonja Sweek Washington DC GRDS 11/29/06 - 103 and holding " .....I start the U of Oregon in January. I see my advisor next week, but will have a year or so of prerequisites, then go on to OHSU and get my Physician's Assistant degree. OHSU (Portland) and Pacific University (30 mi west of Portland) are the two closest places to get this done. I will also make a third application to a U in the LA area, where I could stay with my brother while attending, but am pretty much planning on OHSU.? A brief meeting with my advisor already helped to reassure me that I stand a good chance of getting my choice.....
