Guest guest
Hi, I just joined this group. I have been drinking kombucha for a while now, sometimes I really crave it. Sometimes however, I notice that when I drink it a lot, I have sugar cravings. I am not sure if this is a coincidence or not, but someone else on another list mentioned the same thing. Does anyone here know what this could mean? Does anyone know how kombucha is metabolized, meaning how it affects blood sugar (I think it has carbs in it) and PH? Also, how much would you recommend drinking a day? What about when pregnant? I haven't made my own yet, I usually get GT's kombucha. Thanks so much. maria. Guest guest
Hi Deb,and Welcome!I buy some of what I sprout in the bulk section of Whole Foods and health food stores, provided they are organic. I have much success sprouting their products.I recently made " Essene Bread " for the first time (Mike Synder's recipe in his " Raw Food Recipes " book), and what I did was first soak the wheat berries, let them sprout, and then I processed them in the food processor (as per the recipe instructions). I will put them through the Omega next time as the food processor makes them too chunky. If you have the dry blade and container for the Vitamix, by all means, use that. If you don't, be sure the mix you are making with them is wet enough so you don't jam your vitamix. There are folks on this list who know quite a bit about this stuff, so I am sure some will chime in there. n n Rollings, PhDNJ Licensed Psychologist #4686www.DrnRollings.com Until we have the courage to recognize cruelty for what it is--whether its victim is human or animal--we cannot expect things to be much better in this world... Carson Subject: New with questions To: sproutpeople Date: Saturday, February 26, 2011, 5:47 AM  Hi all - I am brand new to sprouting - almost. I did look a bit on-line, and tryed sprouting my kamut and hard winter white grains. It worked, and I'm very excited about trying many different seeds. Can I just use the seed I get in the bulk section of my health food store? As in lentils, flax, garbanzo, etc.? For sprouted breads, do I have to dry the sprouts? Or can I just blend them with my vitamix? I'll start with those few questions for the moment - Thanks! Looking so forward to learning from this group.
