I have to jump in here,

I will say that I have a teenager, who's moods do switch as you have mentioned,

but I also have a daughter(11) with OCD and bipolar, and I will tell you that

she will be hysterically laughing over something for 20 minutes straight, and

than go into a full blown rage. Her moods go from smiling and laughing one

minute, to literally the next moment yelling and crying. This is early onset

bipolar disorder, which is totally different than adult bipolar, and much worse,

especially if they have OCD with it.My daughter also is an ultra radian cycler,

which many children with this disorder have.
