Oh Carmen,

The holes in the paddle make it go faster. LESS WIND RESISTANCE !!! Added attraction it leaves little circles on yer butt. Just the sight of a paddle with holes in it will send shivers up your spine.

Hi Kirk,

I am going to print out and save your letter about shop lifting and the other "troubles" you got into in your youth. The pancake house was a super duper episode... :o) My son, , went to Catholic school and when he would get in trouble for what ever, the priest would take a paddle with holes in it and make him bend over. I don't know what the hole had to do with it but said it hurt like holy H... !!

Maybe one of those paddles is what my mom needs. I feel so bad for her,

and yet if she would "behave" the place she is now in is a really nice "home."

It's the best in the area from what everyone says. She has tried to run away 3

times now, and she hit a nurse and swore at her yesterday. There was a

meeting in the social worker's office yesterday afternoon. One more "episode"

on mom's part and they will call the police and escort her to a different place

which has "lock down." I wish she could go back home. It's not possible, as

she can not be alone, and it is *impossible* to hire help to go in for less than

$14 an hour which none of us children can afford. No matter where mom goes

she will just be furious and want to go home. It breaks my heart. She screamed

at my sister day before yesterday that she *hates* her and she hates her sister!

(that would be me.) I think my one brother told mom that my sister & I put her

there. My stress level is still "very high," and every time the phone rings, my

heart races. Very weird.....as I was typing this, I almost passed out..I sort of

felt really dizzy and fell over onto the desk, but I'm okay. Maybe need a beer!

For those of you who have e-mailed me privately, please know that I will send

you an e-mail as soon as possible. I think of you everyday, and I read the mail

here, but I just can't seem to get at some things.

Hugs to all,

& & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & &

Holy Socks, Man!

I remember that " Holey Board " from my grade school days. It was affectionately

called " The Board of Education " . I received most of my education as a child from

that board >;)

And the holes definitely make it go faster. It produced this " Whoosh " sound as

it " came in for a landing " ! If anyone remembers Bacon in Animal House, the

following words never came from my mouth: " Thank You, Sir! May I Have Another? "

Memories ......

The pancake house was my "last hurrah" of sorts. I was picked on as a young kid. When I was 13 I was 5'6" and 150 lbs, was already wrestling a few years and was lifting 270 lbs. I was still very timid and afraid of bullies until one day one pushed a little too far. He was 16, I was 13. I would have done anything to not have to fight him at the time, but he would have it no other way. Well, needless to say that was my first real fight. I hurt him very badly, knocking out a few teeth, broke his jaw, broke a few ribs and fractured and bruised a few others. Every single one of his friends "came after" me in the following months, and everyone of them was an easy fight. Before long, I realized I could fight, and was rather effective at it. I can not count the number of fights I was in, but I will be safe in saying 200 or so, and if you count my brother, over 1000. This is no exaggeration. Most of the fights I was in were not even my fight. I became the anti bully, and made some of my best friends that way. I would see a punk picking on someone who either stood little chance and/or didn't want a fight and replace them with me. I had more people tell me they didn't want a problem with me than I can remember. I would come back with "He doesn't want a problem with you either, but that isn't stopping you". I would never "start" the fight, but was a great antagonizer, and was successful in making the majority of people come at me, where I am at my best. I am not too good as a boxer, but have never even come close to being stopped as a street fighter.

The night of "the pancake house" these guys were looking for a fight, and truly picked the wrong crowd. There was myself, my brother Brett, my best man , along with my friends Jerry & Jimmy (brothers), and Donny. Well, the only non fighter among us was Donny. Of the seven of us, 5 have benched over 300lbs (4 of us close to 400), 5 of us wrestled for at least 5 years, and almost all of us were in tons of fights. At the time I was probably 5'6", 205 and benching 350. I was by far one of the smaller guys. Jerry & Jimmy both weighed close to 240, is built identical to me but he is 5'9" & 225, my brother is lighter (190) but 5'10" and is 6' 190. Donny (we nicknamed him "Smurf" long before) is about 5'4" 150. The part that I most remember is being in cuffs. I remember it because a cop asked me why I was laughing. I told him "Look at them........they triple our numbers, some of them are twice my size, all of them are bleeding" ...he asked what was funny about that and I replied "None of us are!". He didn't seem to enjoy that statement as much as I did.

Fortunately, I grew up and am very responsible to myself, my family and my interests. Every now and then I wish the "times" were still the same, but in reality I hardly ever think of it anymore. I just have the gut instinct my kids are going to make my parents' wishes come true......and every parent reading this knows what they were.
