True, I salt water pool still contains Chlorine. It takes Sodium Chloride (salt) and busts it apart into Sodium and Chloride (chlorine). It enters the pool, does its thing and then turns back into Sodium chloride. The process is repeated over and over. I have heard (not confirmed) that these systems are "illegal" in California. Personally, we went with a chlorine free system in our pool that uses Copper ion generator and UV purified oxygen to "kill" the bad guys in the pool. It is truely the only way to be "chlorine free". Outside of that, the recommendation is to take a shower immediately afterwards and adding epsom salts also helps.

For us in our pool, yes less chlorine, but we do not overcholorinate

like most community pools do. Quoting Crystalize Music Studio
