Guest guest
Hey Don,You " gotta " get what will serve you best and what won't blow the budget. Did you go to www.discountjuicers.com ?He might have a good deal. He has a number of videos on youtube that are great. Also, www.rawfoodworld.com used to have a deal where they threw in the paralex sheets.I know I thought about getting the excalibur for a year and then shopped around to get the best deal. I believe I got a reconditioned 3900 from the manufacturer but I knew I'd need all those shelves. If you do plan on dehydrating sprouts, be sure to get enough shelves because you can't add them later on.I am so excited for you! : ) n n Rollings, PhDNJ Licensed Psychologist #4686www.DrnRollings.com Until we have the courage to recognize cruelty for what it is--whether its victim is human or animal--we cannot expect things to be much better in this world... Carson Subject: Changed me mind To: sproutpeople Date: Thursday, January 6, 2011, 10:03 PM  Think I'll get the Excalibur 3526T dehydrator. By the time I add the 5 nonstick sheets & 9.95 shpg it'll still set me back $248.10 (but I'll also get free a $24.95 book all about dehydrating + recipes). I don't think anything we normally discuss here would make sense dehydrated except as ingredients in recipes. Speaking of which, check out my next post. DiscountJuicers does not sell any units with the built in timer. I think I've found the best deal for something that should serve me well enough. Budget? What's a budget? I'm gonna be hard pressed to even get what I've settled on. Thank God these big ticket items are a one-shot deal...not something ya get very often. As the judge said, next case. Conceptually, that seems silly to me. I've been rethinking the whole idea and have changed my feeble mind once more. I'm not going to buy one. There are still 5 more things I want to get from Gil, however, and then I'll have all the sprouting seed I want (need?). Maybe I can get that order in sooner than anticipated. I confess I remain curious about sprouting fennel - think I'm gonna just have to spring for some of that (and make it the very last seed order for a long time). Has anyone reading this ever tried it? Guest guest
Hi Don,I haven't tried fennel, but if you do, please let us know how it goes. I am finding that for veggies that I don't like (beets being one of them) I am liking the juice or the sprouts (am about to sprout my beet seeds). I can't stand red radishes (lI ike Asian ones though), but love all radish sprouts.I tend to wait and think a long time before I make one of those big purchases--half the fun is plotting and scheming what I want to do. Sometimes, I end up realizing that I don't want the thing after all. I thought about a treadmill for 5 years before I bought one lolSounds like not getting the dehydrator will result in a bigger sproutpeople order--fun! marion

Aw shucks, now ya just reminded me of yet one more thing I'd like to try (beet sprouts). Personally, I love beets so I'm sure I'd like the sprouts. One note of caution, however. Owing to the oxalate content they are probably something to consume rather infrequently. My main concern aside from that is getting non-gmo, organic seed. Right back atcha with let us know how ya make out with yours. Don
Guest guest
I have some dried fennel out the kitchen door. I give it a try tomorrow. ew ---- > Actually, I had no plans to dehydrate sprouts. Conceptually, that seems silly to me. I've been rethinking the whole idea and have changed my feeble mind once more.
