Jim,

As I was ready the Diagostic Manual, I realize it is easier for the MDs

to bill the Insurance Co if it is AD!!

There is not a place to put the LBD in the Diagnostic Manual? Except

under Other Dementias!!

My guess is that is why everyone has AD.

Just goes to show you that even the famous will go misdiagnosed as well. I

wish there were a way to contact his wife.

Sad isn't Jim. A friend of mine dad was dx with early Alzheimer's just a few

months ago.

We don't get to see each other often but i'm keeping her informed about being

misdiagnosed and LBD.

The NH my mom is at is really interested in learning more about LBD. I'm

thankful for that and i am bring in any info i can even how people are

misdiagnosed!

While talking to the person at an AL to come and visit their dementia facility,

the fellow referred to some people there with an " Alzheimer's shuffle " . Think

this might be a misdiagnosis???? I informed him that from everything I have

read, Alzheimer's does not typically have a shuffle. You have to watch these AL

" salespeople " .

Jim,

Seems to me the big red flag is the word 'Parkinson's' and also the " some

days he is as sharp as a tack. " Yes, we do have a long way to go. Thanks for

the reminder.
