Yeah, and the food you could afford to eat was still good for ya!

As an example, the iron content in spinach in 1948 was about 50 times what you

get today.

Hi.

(still no emails). Anyway, this morning I went to my breakfast place and brought

a little bag of sprouts (as requested) for my waitress.

She smiled and said: " Oh you remembered " I said " of course "

I then gave her the little bag of sprouts. A man sitting on an adjoining table

looks and says " What is that? " and the waitress replies " Oh Melody grows her own

sprouts and she brings a little bag here every morning and puts the on her

sandwich "

He then says " oh, wow you grow your own sprouts??? " and I said " sure, lots of

good stuff in them, lots of anti-oxidants, and I began a short dissertation on

the benefits of sprouting.

Guess what he says?

" You grow your own brussel sprouts, WOW, but how is that healthy to bring them

for breakfast? "

After bringing my head off the floor (and not laughing out loud), I politely

said " NOT BRUSSEL SPROUTS "

He said " But aren't brussel sprouts, SPROUTS??? "

I said " let me explain " .

and I did

He got it. He said 'oh, the stuff in the salad bars and things like that, OH MY

GOD, YOU GROW YOUR OWN????

Well, that began another lesson on buying organic sprouting seeds online.

I don't expect I changed anything about their eating habits but boy did they get

a lesson on organic sprouting seeds and sprouting.

lol
