Guest guest
thanks Jim. > > Go to the bank, get a loan, You should be a low risk and should be able to get prime + .5-1%. Payments can be made over 20-30 years. Our loan is about $500/month=about 5 patients a month, for $60,000 for start up. > ________________________________ > From: [ ] On Behalf Of wenmingtseng [wenmingtseng@...] > Sent: Wednesday, June 24, 2009 7:14 AM > To: > Subject: 3:30 am > > > > > My eyes opened at 3:30 am and could not fall back to sleep. > EXCITED ABOUT IMP! > This " IMP ride " is taking a fast speed, faster than I thought. > This all started when our lead physician emailed us an article from NY Times recently. > I found the IMP website, found this group, and guess what, I signed up for the Camp! > One office partner just bought a building that will be converted to an office. > She is thinking about IMP too. > She also told me that there is a group in ABQ that meets once a month. > Well, > the million dollar question is: > how do I finance this project? > I tried lottery, no luck. > I do not have a rich uncle > ... > How does one get a loan to start a business project like this? > Are there different ways to do this? >
Guest guest
Hi Ben I'll be at IMP camp also and can certainly talk to you about the economics of the Albuquerque IMPing. And the monthly Albuquerque lunches are a great idea also. I started my practice with a rented room, a computer, an EMR and some used gear. I didn't take out a loan, though I did use a couple of " no interest if paid off in 6 months credit cards " in addition to some cash savings to start up. Guest guest
How does one get a loan to start a business project like this? Are there different ways to do this? Opportunities exist, where you can be recruited by a hospital system to bring primary care to an underserved rural area. Our deal was to sign on for 3 years, and the hospital system would fund the first year of the practice. I throw out a number for the sake of argument, this could be worth up to quarter million dollars. And you do not have to pay it back, unless you leave before the 3 years is up. Stark laws prevent the hospital system from influencing your patient care. You are solo. If you are willing to move, this is the best deal in the world. Think about it: underserved rural, means better quality of life (though not necessarily a better standard of living).
