This injection sounds like it could offer

me a lot. I am having a hard time getting my Vitamin D up, and although

my Calcium levels show fine, I am sure I am losing calcium from my bones…

as I KNOW I am losing it from my teeth. In spite of Dr. K talking to my

PCP, she insists that the 100,000 IU of Vitamin D Dr. K told her to prescribe

for me is too much… but thankfully, it isn’t prescription so I can

get it anyway. I am going to have new labs next week, but I know my

Vitamin D level is not going to be enough improved. I am assuming that

the leg cramping is caused by my nutrition deficits. Unfortunately, the cramping

is beginning to extend to my hands and other spots. Grrrr. My lack

of diligence has cost me dearly.

I think I am going to be forced to look at

making an appointment somewhere else, but I have had very poor luck with PCP’s

over my DS, and am afraid I will just trade one PCP who doesn’t understand

with another.

I am SO with you. My PCP who promised me before my surgery he would study up and do his best for me, really thinks my labs look "ok"

well maybe they do but I feel like crap. Now I am having symptoms so obviously it has gone too far. I would like to go see Dr. K but it isn't always easy to arrange a few days off work to make the trip.

There is ONE surgeon in my neck of the woods who does some DS surgery. He is a well known worry wart and I am thinking of paying to see him to get some advice.

Right there with ya girlfriend, hope your cramps ease up sounds miserable. For me it has always been deydration and redoubling my fluid intake (including every few hours all night) helps hugely.

Wonderful analogy Jo!

I think going to a local DS Doctor would be a great thing. Do it! That Doctor may not be " the answer " ...but it is a great thing to try.Good advice about the dehydration!!! As DSers we will FOREVER be more prone to dehydration. We must be aware of that fact and keep our fluid levels up.

The frustration on your labs and your doctor thinking they look fine is common. Hell, we even get frustrated with Dr. K on that very subject. Part of the problem is Doctors are trained to TREAT, not to PREVENT. I want them to douse the sparkler BEFORE it can land on my roof and burns my house down. They look at the sparkler and say " it's ok your house isn't on fire "
