Guest guest
Hi TaeBo Friends! :-) Well, you all know how I've never watched any of my advanced tapes because I like to keep things a " surprise. " Well, I had a stressful evening (after a great day though), so I dragged myself to do the pink basic workout (from Get Ripped...which is the only tapes I have until my Live 4-pack arrives which I ordered yesterday) which was fine (I personally hate the floor work though...that is the toughest part on me)! Oh, I was so stressed before I began that I forgot to put on my handwraps. Do many of you use the handwraps? They just get me in the mood and make me feel more like an " official " Tae Bo person. Plus, they are good at helping you keep your hands at eye level as says. That was great. So later tonight I fast forwarded through the blue advanced workout just to see what it is all about. I'm relieved because I think I can give it a try pretty soon, anyday that I want to do something different and more I will give it a try! It is intense, crazy long (fast forwarding through it took ages), and wild, but I think I'm going to give it a go soon. As I said...I can usually push through a lot of the stuff on my feet, it is the floor work that really zaps me. Someone said that the Live Advanced in the 4 pack has 20 minutes of floor work, that will be a challenge! I'll be happy if I can step up to advanced though, that will then give me a total of six unique workouts, plus the two eight minute workouts which are a good day's work for me anyway put together. I'll be up to ten tapes now too so hopefully some day I will near the number some of you have. I need to get some nice bookcase to store more tapes (all kinds of tapes, mainly Formula 1) though...as I have said before, they are everywhere here...in closets, in cabinets, in drawers, in television cabinet, in my computer desk, underneath beds, stacked to my head in my office, etc. etc. It is wild! Plus, tapes like Tae Bo's I kinda want to display, although the Live tapes don't seem to have as nice art on the covers as the Get Ripped series. I guess it would kinda be cool to get on the auto delivery for the basic & advanced, but have it setup so that you get a basic, then two weeks later get advanced, then about two weeks later get a new basic. Cause I think the basics can always be used as you guys use them, either combined, or put with an eight minute, or even just alone on a really bad day (of course now that is all I do, but I know in the near future I will certainly need more than just a basic on a normal day). Hopefully no one minds that I just say here what is on my mind. That is what is good about this place for me. I can simply think aloud. I mean, who else can I talk about Tae Bo to? It's not like all my friends are Tae bo addicts like us! So, thanks everyone, it means a lot. I really think I would not do as well if I did not have this place to come back to and just jabber off what comes to mind. It's really amazing how that works! Oh yeah, if anyone wants to write TaeBo and suggest re-airing some of the pay per view events or putting more of the pay per view events onto video I would really appreciate it. They could make another library of videos from the tv workouts couldn't they? I know many of you would not need those, but it would be good for those like me just getting into it. When did those pay per views air again? were they weekly, monthly, daily? How much was each workout or did you buy like an entire season together as you do sports packages? Well, best wishes, another good Tae Bo day for me! :-) Steve __________________________________________________

Steve, You're right....the basics are excellent workouts to have! Before I started crosstraining and was only doing Tae-Bo, I alternated basic and advanced days. On the basic days, I did back to back basics to get an hour workout, but to give myself a different workout than the advanced! When I tried doing Advanced workouts 5-6 days a week, I really started to feel fatigued and burned out after a few weeks. I liked the variety of alternating basic and advanced days.....it gave my body a change of pace and the basic workouts were still tough enough to give me a good workout! I like the idea of getting the automatic delivery of both basic and advanced, but having them spaced out so that you get them at different times..that's a really good idea > Hopefully no one minds that I just say here what is on > my mind. That is what is good about this place for > me. I can simply think aloud. I mean, who else can I > talk about Tae Bo to? It's not like all my friends > are Tae bo addicts like us! Of course we don't mind! That's exactly what this place is for We all love Tae-Bo and love to talk about Tae-Bo...lol! You'll always find someone here who can answer your questions or give you advice or just listen to you talk > When did those pay per views air again? were they > weekly, monthly, daily? How much was each workout or > did you buy like an entire season together as you do > sports packages? Let's see.....those workouts aired from March through May 2000. New workouts aired on Monday's and Friday's and played continuously throughout the day from early morning until sometime in the evening. One new basic workout and one new advanced workout would air each time. So, it would alternate like this all day: Instructional (from the Live 4-pack), basic, advanced. I can't remember the price, but you could pay a monthly fee and have it all the time or you could pay by the day. It was very reasonable, like maybe $3.99 a day or something? Or you could get the month for like $25 or something? I could be totally off here...does anyone remember how much it was for the month? LOL! I do know that it was WELL WORTH the price because you got 16 new workouts every month.....8 basic and 8 advanced! I think one of the reasons they stopped it was because people would tape the workouts, so it just wasn't a money making situation for them! I mean, you could sign up for one month, get 16 workouts, tape them and then never buy another workout...lol! As compared to buying the Live tapes where one workout costs that much! Anyway, I don't think they are going to go the pay per view route again...but they might release those videos at some point in time as another series! In fact, that wouldn't surprise me at all since they have already recycled some of the workouts and released them as different series (Get Ripped, Inspirational, etc.)! Steve, I think that is a great idea! I am on the advanced series but if they had an option that rotated beginning than advanced I think I would have chosen that one. Knowing me and my addiction to Taebo, once I'm done with Advanced, I'll probably sign up for basic anyway.
