If you take vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants and other supplements you won't be needing as many pharmaceuticals. THAT'S where that fallacy came from. Absorption rates have been tested and absorption IS occurring. Another problem today causing malnutrition is that the amount of toxins people are subjected to in their food, water, and air they breathe (no one is immune) makes it harder for the body to assimilate nutrients so we need to take in twice as many nutrients to absorb what we need. Doing cleanses increases the body's ability to absorb nutrients.
