Guest guest
Hi Thanks for the " best wishes " and firm hand shake. Your email caught my eye. My mother has for as long as I can remember had a poor sense of smell, and taste for that matter. She has also had a poor memory for a long time too, something I seem to have inherited, as Sandie will attest to. I remember my father before he died complained of Mum's memory, he always thought she chose what she wanted to remember and what she didn't. Well, off track here, really only wrote to tell you that Mum's sense of smell is poor. Merry Christmas to you and to , and a happy New Year. -- Does your loved one smell ok??? Firstly, hello! I am still here although I'm a bit behind with reading the emails. I've about 1300 of them to go. Probably not going to manage that am I. Anyhow, does your loved one smell ok? I'm not really asking about their personal hygiene. Dads ok in this respect. Better than his bathroom anyway. Think his aim is a bit rough when he uses the toilet these days. Thank goodness he doesn't have the PD shakes. Oh dear. Wish I hadn't thought of that... Er no. What I'm really asking is how is their sense of smell. Yer see there was this bit in the paper this week. Some one in New York has noticed that people with mild memory loss also have a problem with smell. They mention cloves, leather, strawberries, smoke, soap, menthol, pineapple, and natural gas. A strange list but perhaps there is some technical reason for it. Maybe they just had a pineapple to hand at the time... I really don't know. The implication is that a number of the people went on to have Alzheimer's. So far I haven't asked dad to stick his head in the oven to test the theory. Partly because I don't actually want to kill him at the moment but mainly because he has an electric cooker so it wouldn't prove much. There is no mention of LBD (obviously) but I was wondering if you folks had noticed anything??? Don't get too excited. Their sample of people was teeny tiny. Anyway, I hope you all have a Happy Christmas and a cool new year. All my love to you all, (well the women anyway... The men can have my best wishes and a firm shake of the hand!) in Kent (The garden of England. Apparently.)
