You should consider getting a new basic tape if at all possible. The tapes have changed SO much! In the Live tapes there are people of all shapes, sizes and colors. They are taped at 's training center in CA. It really helped me to see people that aren't already in tremendous shape! Maybe after you get sick of the studio tapes you can invest in the Live 4 pack! It comes with a new instructional, basic, advanced and a 8 minute. They are all really great tapes... and our dear (from this group) is in the basic AND advanced tape. I suggested those because they are sold in a LOT of retail stores like Target, Walmart, Best Buy etc., and they are a pretty good deal for 4 tapes. Also the instructional is a great tool, much more detailed than the first instructional. Of course, ALL taebo tapes are great so what you have is a great start. Congrats on getting up and popping that tape in! Jenni
Guest guest
Welcome, Barbara! Stay with us and post and we will do our best to motivate you. You should be able to get in good shape spending 30-45 min. exercising. The live tapes have " normal " people in them. Elena Welcome Barbara!!! What is your name? Barbara How old are you? 28 Where are you from? ville, FL Tell us a bit about your family (spouse, kids, pets, etc.): Married with a 4 yr old son and 22 mo. old daughter. I also have a dog and a cat. How long have you been doing Tae-Bo? Only 1 week, hoping this group will keep my motivation going What tapes do you have? Original Instruction, Basic and 8-minute workout What are your fitness/weightloss goals? To lose weight (about 75-80 lbs) and become stronger. I also need to increase my energy levels to keep up with my 2 little ones! What results have you had so far (both physical and metal)? It's a too early for physical results outside of feeling every muscle in my body but mentally...I look forward to doing the workout everyday! What do you like most about Tae-Bo? It works every body part and teaches martial arts to some degree. I bet with time I could really kick butt!!! What do you like least about Tae-Bo? It would be more encouraging if at least the basic tapes had some " less than fit " participants What other exercises/activities do you do? Chasing the kids count?!? What are your hobbies/interests? I guess my family...I don't really have time for much else with a full time job and being a mom... What would you like people to know about you? I need motivation and encouragement!!! I have only 30-45 minutes a day to workout (between getting home from work and picking up the kids) which rules out finding someone to workout with and to keep me going. If I don't have somebody getting on my case to do my workout I'll end up quitting like I always have.

Guest guest
Barbara welcome to the group and let me tell you , you are not alone. I have 3 children, 8, 3, 2 and I am struggling with finding time everyday to workout, I also either work fulltime, or am in graduate school fulltime starting again in Aug. You will find lots of motivation and people here take the time to send lots of motivation, inspiration, wisdom and guidance. Hope you enjoy it here!!! Take Care, Temera

Guest guest
> > What do you like least about Tae-Bo? It would be more encouraging if at > least the basic tapes had some " less than fit " participants Barbara, Welcome to the group! If you are looking for support and motivation..you've come to the right place! This group is FULL of motivating people The first thing I would suggest is to try and get your hands on some of the Live tapes! They are FULL of everyday people just like you and me, all shapes and sizes Like Jenni said, the Live 4-pack is a GREAT investment and is available at retail stores! Or you can sign up on the Taebo website to get a new live tape every month (if that's an option for you)! Having a variety of workouts will really help keep you motivated! Also, one of the things you have to start telling yourself RIGHT NOW is that this time is going to be different. Even if you don't truly believe it quite yet...keep repeating to yourself 'I am going to succeed this time'! You can't rely on others to get your through your workout...you are the only one who is going to be able to push play and you have to learn to motivate yourself So, even if you don't believe it about yourself...every time a negative thought pops in your head about how you always fail, or how you can't lose weight, or how this time is going to be no different than the last time...immediately say to yourself " I CAN and WILL do this " ...say it out loud if you have to...LOL! Soon enough, you'll start to believe it! Sometimes you just gotta fake it in the beginning Good luck! This group is a really terrific place to come for extra support (and yes reading people's messages will also help motivate you, but ultimately you have to be able to find that motivation within yourself)! I look forward to hearing more from you!
