Guest guest
My dad has been having really bad eye problems. His eyes turn red and are very irritated. This happens about twice a week. He says that it feels like sand is in his eyes. It is extremely painful. It usually clears up and in a day or two starts all over again. I brought him to the eye doctor yesterday and the doctor found out that he had ulcers on the cornea. He said that this is cause from severe dryness and the eye lid sticks to the skin on the eye and pulls it off causing the ulcer. He said it is like touching a metal icetray and if you try to pull your hand off without wetting it it will pull the skin off. He prescribed a new drop to put in for a week that will clear it up but it could happen over and over from the dry eyes. I have tried just about everything to prevent the dryness but nothing seems to help. I'm trying something new right now called Thera Tears. I'll let you know what happens. If anyone else has this problem please let me know what you are doing. Thanks in Advance' Pat in Louisiana
Guest guest
Hi, Pat, I haven't experienced eye problems like this with my dad. It sounds awful for your dad. My dad is on eye drops for glaucoma, but he has never had ulcers. Just wanted you to know you are in my thoughts. Hugs, Piper in Louisiana

Guest guest
Pat this is what I was talking about in my post about mom's eyes. We use the " lacrilube " which works better than drops. It lasts longer as it is more of a gel as opposed to the eye drops which dry out quicker. Mom says it feels like sand in the eyes too...
