Exercise in the Cold and Light Headedness

I was recently training a group of 16 year old girls for soccer.

The temperature was about 35 degrees. One of the problems I had was

that some of the girls were feeling lightheaded one girl almost

looked like she was going to pass out. Pretty much most of the

girls did not feel very well during the running exercise. We were

doing interval running for about 4 on and 4 off at high intensity

running. I would like some feedback as to why they felt this way

and what kind of experience do you have in training athletes in cold

weather and what should and should not be done in this regard.
