Guest guest
I love your mom!!!! 2 Olivia Moments Hi All, As much as I am mourning the loss of my dog Max I still can appreciate the things my mom says and does. This afternoon mom told me that a " whore " was in the house. When I seemed surprized she told me the whore was upstairs in the house digging holes. I asked mom if she told her to go away and mom said she did. (I was shocked at this one!). The other day my father cut up an orange for my mom and was trying to pass a segment to her. My dad's hands shake something awful (essential Parkinson's I think they call it) and in passing it to mom and her not being able to focus all that well sometimes the orange fell. Dad said to mom, " why do you let everything I pass you fall?. Mom replied " well! if your hands didn't shake so much then maybe I could grab it! Dad walked away laughing. Good ole mom. Guest guest
Courage- Keep the Olivia moments coming. I, too, have always enjoyed the stories you share from your mom. Also, its good to see that you are still enjoying them. See, prayers really are answered. Thinking of you and sending hugs from Iowa all the way to Canada- Sandie

Guest guest
I am glad they still have their humor. My dad is getting much worse (not LBD just a grieving heart) but he still laughs occasionally. That helps me. Guest guest
, As if it wasn't bad enough to go through all that you did with your mom you now have to go throught this trying period with your father. Guest guest
Courage, My dad asked for the minister today and when he got there he asked that they pray that he go home to God. The minister didn't want to but me and my sisters said that all of us kids are ok with this.So he just prayed that God would do whatever his will was. Dad cant even walk across the room now and he has told all of us kids goodbye. Death in any form sucks but watching a LO one suffer in any way is just as sucky. Guest guest
Thanks Courage, I have been hoping that things were better for you. I have not been able to even read my emails since I have had to be with Dad. My older sister is past her breaking point so I have been trying to help her cope with all of this. I think I am failing them all, especially my husband. Guest guest
, You ARE NOT failing anyone, you are wonderful. The fact that you even feel like you are failing them illustrates my point. You are truly selfless. You have had a lot to deal with as of late, and you continue to so with such grace. You will be in my thoughts. Sending you much love, Piper
Guest guest
, please know that I am sending you support and strength. Also, please don't feel as though you are failing anyone. You have been through LBD, the loss of your mother and now the possible loss of your father. I don't mean to be mean here but I hope your husband will understand that for now your energy must be elsewhere. I'm sorry to hear that your sister is near the breaking point. You are both being called upon to deal with very stressful situations so close to each other. Take care of yourself my friend. Guest guest
Thank you. My husband has been wonderful through ALL of this. Even with his own illness looming over us. He does his very best to make our time quality time. He gets frustrated and needy at times, but I dont blame him. It is difficult for any person to understand. He loved my mother like she was his mother. They had a connection and it devestated him when she passed. I dont really think he understands about my dad, but then I dont completely either. I am glad I have my friends here who support me, pray foe me, and at times make me laugh. My husband has always said laughter is the most important part of life. I think he si right! Boy I hated to say he was right, it always inflates his ego when I do. LOL Thank you so much for being here. NOW about you. Are you doing better??? I worry about you too! Guest guest
Thanks for the smile re: your husband being right! I'm a bit better today. I managed to having my moring cry earlier today so I was able to get out of bed at a resonable time and then off to my moms. When my depressed brain tries to get the better of me I do a lot of self talk or jump up and start doing some physical work. I'm hoping the increase in my med will help too. Guest guest
Courage For some reason when I get depressed I do the things I hate doing. Ironing, cleaning the oven etc. I used to take long rides but with gas prices the oven gets extra care.
