Guest guest
Tonya, You have just described the crust of the matter, drugs for original symptoms, more drugs to combat side effects of the first drugs, it gets to be a vicious cycle. Imagine that being done with psychotopic drugs that deal with the brain. I have seen some kids on 5 or 6 different brain drugs, then all of a sudden they are in pschiatric hospitals being put on Thorazine because they are so out of control. Guest guest
I know; it happened with my nephew years ago. First they said he was ADHD, then bi-polar. They played Russian roulette with his meds until he ended up in the State Hospital at either Vernon or Wichita Falls (can't remember which) at AGE 10!!! That's where he got a diagnosis of schizophrenia. Saddest part is through all that the medical community only medicated him. No behavior management was taught, just take this pill. No surprise to me that he can't hold a job as a young adult or even function independently and now self medicates with street drugs. There's got to be a better way!!
