Ya know when we get used to hurting all the time it's amazing how sick we can let ourselves get just because hurting is normal. I'm really sad to hear you have been so sick. But since you are Bored silly that means you're on the mend, thank God. I hope we never have to find out what it will take for you're body to run a fever! It is a heat wave here with temps of 103 degrees so making my escape in the middle of the night might be better when the heat index is 115.....Doncha think?? My IV clotted off after the Blood and they haven't restarted it but won't tell me anything. So I am in limbo. If they restart the thing it will be the 4th stick in 5 days. They have stuck me 4 times today for labs.(Type and cross and then a gentamycin level) couldn't do any of them at the same time. I can't figure out why my B12 levels are suddenly way low after several years of being OK. Maybe I should call the office and ask Dee? I thought that problem was gone with the revision..... After blood though my Bp was a whopping 110/56...WOW scarey...LOL. I guess no more beta blockers for the forseeable future? Guess I should call the Heart doc and let her know what happened? Guest guest
Mel, you are in my thoughts and prayers! I know that my body is as complicated and confusing as yours! Everything that all the signs point to.....make U turns and curves and end up being something else! I to am so damn tired of being sick and tired! I DID get my MRI done Monday - had to threaten to call 911 from the Dr's office and go through the Er, but they finally admitted that their pre-auth person " missed " the order for the MRI and didn't even try to get auth for it (after a dozen calls and messages from me and more from medical imaging? Duh........) But now that that's done, we can FINALLY get to the bottom of this! I have an appt with an endicronoligost next month, and hopefully HE will understand more about this surgery than my PCO did - he actually put me on BONIVA which in the top 3 reasons NOT to take it satys - NOT for persons with low blood calcium and also not for persons with esophageal problems (I have had esophogeal spasms for 6 years!) first! Thank God I called Dee before taking the Boniva! I always wondered if Boniva was such a wonder drug, then why didn't ALL pots-ops take it - now I know why!!!! Like you, I don't blame the DS for all my post op problems but there are several that ARE a direct result of the DS- but we are dealing with those daily and will probably deal with them all my life! Hang in there Mel -I am just GLAD TO HEAR THAT YOU GOT SOME ANSWERS, GOOD OR BAD- AT LEAST THEY ARE REAL ANSWERS! keep us up to date on everything else! Many hugs! Cindee BTW - Wasn't it YOU that said your sis had her pituatuary gland tumor removed recently? if so, email me with details, or post them here! What caused her to THINK it was a Pituatary problem and how did they find it? What was the final diagnosis and then the treatment? If it was NOT Mel, someone email me abut THEIR sis or sis in law! ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour
Guest guest
Hi, I was in Winn Dixie..Those here in the South. Know that Winn Dixie is a grocery store down here. I took my pressure on one of those machines in front of the pharmacy. My pressure was 118/55 then it was 118/65 about 3 days later.. I haven't seen my new doctor out here yet.Is that low? I have felt tired and dizzy lately.A bit more depressed then normal. I am taking 20 mgs.of Lexapro. And am still fighting depression. I am living with my Dad who has health problems. He has Alzheimers, trouble swallowing his food, and right now his doc is checking his heart..And having a more extensive test on his throat this coming Wednesday...He had a swallow test and it came back abnormal..My question was about my BP...Is that low? Or normal for us DSers? Just wondering if BP can effect my ability to handle the stresses of caring for my father..Because I have been so tired and dizzy...Just not myself lately.. Anyway Thanks for reading this.Any advise is welcome.. Thanks All, MDL1031@... wrote: In a message dated 8/10/2007 6:46:50 P.M. Guest guest
, That is not low, but a good reading. However, it might go lower when you stand up, for example. Don't you have a doc, yet? I assume you do, since you are on a med. Maybe the Lexapro is making you dizzy? Is it new? Marta
Guest guest
Hi Marta, I go to a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She prescribes my Lexapro. I have changd doses from 10 mgs. to 20 mgs. Its been about one and a half months at this dosage..I don't think its the Lexapro making me dizzy. Maybe its just my life with Dad !! Stressing the crap out of me !!! I am on Medicade. Its been hard to find a PCP. I have a name of one.I am going to be making an appointment with him next week. He's an internist.I thought he would be good for me ? I hope with our DS history?? I'll see. I am going to go with Dr.K's information. So he can read up on what procedure I had..Hopefully he will be open to our needs and understand our differences. I'm glad my pressure wasen't bad.Thank you for your answer.. mjs93311 wrote: , That is not low, but a good reading. However, it might go lower when you stand up, for example. I may be a symptom of a much larger problem. 118/65 is good blood pressure. But it may be too low for the Unique YOU. Being tired and dizzy are signs of low blood pressure. Do you get dizzy when quickly going from a laying/sitting to a standing position? A couple causes of low blood pressure could be Anemia from blood loss, Infection leading to septic shock, Medications (even some for Depression).....DEHYDRATION. Make sure you are hydrated, take note of when the dizziness occurs and make an appointment with a physician. You need to establish a physician anyway. Actually that B/p isn't too bad depending on the symptoms. Your doc will need to eval you. My tired and dizziness was from several causes. I was anemic(severely) I was dehydrated, and I had a very low Bp(lower than 60 on bottom to me is low for my body) My lowest I saw was 38 ....and I was septic from my infection. When I'm 118/ 65 that is normal for me. I was high for a long time but my high Bp fixed itself after I had my small bowel obstruction surgery(who knows why?) If you are having symptoms of dehydration drink lots of fluids because we are very prone to dehydration, as I learned this weekend. I was drinking tons of fluids and still was dehydrated. If I drink any more, I'm going to float away. The kidney infection must be interfering with the body and caused the dehydration. Oh, did I mention I'm home? I begged and pleaded and got to go. They wanted me to stay and see a GI in house and I promised to see one Outpatient. Besides, I'm supposed to see The urologist Monday in the office .....LOL. They had to let me go!
