Congratulations Elle... I found an old journal from 2002 .  Last night I read that I  gave you some tulips that I had received after my surgery.  It was the day you were wheeled back in.. dehydrated???? You sure could not have handled these last stressful years pre-DS.  Hope all is well.

 

It is the 10th anniversary of my DS surgery. So much has happened in that time that it feels like I have lived a lifetime. Considering that my doctors had told me that I would be lucky to see 50 (I'm 57 now)… it's been a really grea 10 years. I am still over 100 pounds lighter than I was pre-surgery. High blood pressure and diabetes have not returned. Because I live a really stressful life the last few years, I have put some weight back on, and it has made life a bit harder. If I can get my kids under control, maybe I can have time to think about me.

I have not been as good as I should about supplements. It is my 10 year resolution that I will.

Ah Betsy... how the years have gone. No, the last few years would have killed

me pre-DS. Now, when I think I'm passed what I am able to do... somehow I find

new vigor entering my soul and new hope for the day. You've had a few

adventures these last years as well! -- Elle **

The ninth was my 7th DS anniversary. I was thinking about it and couldn't fall

asleep at all last might. Made a lot of changes this year (starting the end of

January) by buying a Ninja Blender and now I am eating a lot of veggies that I

pulverize and just drink or heat up for soup. Hope it helps me lose ten or so

pounds that creeped up.
