Guest guest
My doc advised me just not to get too hot. He said he has one MS patient who in the last month or two, completed her first marathon. He was encouraging when I expressed interest in a marathon myself and simply advised to do what I can not to get too hot, like exercise in the morning or in a gym with a fan and air conditioning. Summer is hot here in Utah (several days greater than 100 degrees F this July). I am starting up my training again now. [low dose naltrexone] MS & excercise , Don't give up the bike all together. You might limit the amout of time you spend on your excercise bike and slowly work up to enough time where you feel as though you recieved a good cardio workout without over doing it! Don't use it, loose it Just remember eveythig in moderation. Good Luck!
Guest guest
I thought recently that the heat might be playing a role. I went to my water aerobics class which was warm water but, all in all it was cooler. I felt better until I went outside for a few minutes. This makes me realize that it probably is the heat that is messing with me. I now slow down a bit when I work out. We will see how that works.__________________________________________________

Guest guest
I just cleared out 600 emails and saw this one with a topic close to my concerns. I use a recumbant bike, where you sit with a back support and your legs forward instead of like a ten-speed. I try to use mine nightly and can ride 10 minutes while watching TV. It makes the time go by faster. It is best to start a ride with low resistance at first which allows me to ride faster to raise my heart rate. Then work harder at a higher setting and close with a minute or two on an easy setting but just to cool down. Biking is the easiest form of exercise for me because it only requires me to sit and do it. No prep time, no clean up time. It is great for the portion it can offer. -
