Naltrexone is a drug like any other and there will bea proportion of people in whom it does not work.I sorry to hear that your wife is in that group. Some LDN supporters will not accept that LDN doesnot stop progression in all cases of MS. I have seen'LDN doubters' chased away from this chat roomwhich makes it difficult to assess what proportionof people benefit from LDN.

If "LDN doubters" feel "chased away" by someone offering suggestions of things that might affect how LDN works (filler, dosage, possible lyme, effects of diet, etc.) or why it doesn't seem to be working, they obviously don't understand that offering those types of suggestions is exactly what this forum is about.

If I ever post that LDN doesn't seem to be helping me, I will welcome suggestions from others of things I may not have considered. Seeking that type of input is what brought me to this forum (and others) in the first place.

So, "doubters", please don't interpret "suggestions" as trying to "chase you away". I seriously doubt that is anyone's intent!

This forum is very subjective, anyway. I say LDN is working for me, because I have been taking it for 13 months with no further exacerbations. But, other that improved bladder control, I have seen no particular symptom improvements. Someone else might say, because they have seen no symptom improvement, that LDN is "not working" for them.

In addition to LDN, I also radically changed my diet (following the Best Bet Diet). So, is it the LDN, the diet change, or a combination that is helping me? Others have commented that diet change had "no effect" on them.

There are many nuances to consider. For LDN, it might be dosage, filler. For diet, it might be how strictly it is followed, it might be "grain-free", it might be specific food allergies/sensitivities. Since many have reported good things happening when they changed fillers, adjusted dosages, followed a diet more strictly, or adjusted their diets for food allergies, it seems to me that those "suggestions" are worth considering, and I for one am very glad those on this forum are willing to share their suggestions

If you feel "chased away" when you say LDN is not working for you and others respond with suggestions, I fear that will be "your loss"...

Sorry for the lengthy, somewhat off topic, post!

Hey ,

I am with you on this one. We are hear to help each other and suggestions are just that.

Without suggestions from various chatters, we would not have known to lower my husbands dose to 3mg, which worked out perfectly. Also, diet and certain supplements suggested on the site have also helped for various things.

Helping each other is the most wonderful part of this forum.
