Currently, my youngest child is the only one with a diagnosis of AS. She was

diagnosed by a team of people at age 8. At the same time, the new pediatrician

she had seen one time for 5 minutes decided she has ADHD. The team that

diagnosed her does not agree or disagree with that.

My middle child was diagnosed with severe ADHD at age 7. I strongly believe he

also has AS as well, though I have not completed the diagnosis process yet.

My oldest child is what I would consider NT.

> When my son got diagnosed with autism (3 y/o) the doctor made a comment that I

should get my younger son (1 y/o) tested as well. She said that there was a

significant number of children with autism with siblings with the same

diagnosis. Now this is on my mind whenever I am playing with my one year old.

What is your expirience. How many have NT siblings and how many have Autistic

siblings of autistic children?

my 5 year old has a diagnosis of moderate autism, his 3 year old sister is normal, his 18 month old brother is strongly suspected to be autistic (acts the same way as his older brother did at the same age) and has been referred for a diagnosis (9 month wait) and early intervention. s' speech therapist has recommended that I sing to Jay to try to increase his vocabulary.

oh also I think there's a strong family history of it on the paternal side. I think my soon to be ex husband may have aspergers or high functioning autism. he won't admit he has a problem though.

my 2nd child is my autistic child. My 11 y/o is ADD and has autistic TENDENCIES my parents say she's very immature for her age and is to a degree. i know she's probably not on the spectrum but treating her like she is does help...my younger 2 are just fine..probably too fine :) Now my bil and sil have a 9yo girl (my neice) w/ aspergers and their 3 yo son (my nephew) is supposedly ok but to me he acts alot like my son and his sister. His sister wasnt diagnosed til she was almost 6 so there is still a chance that he's on the spectrum.Daisy: wife to , Mom to Adayla, Braydon, Colton, and Faythe

Oh another thing my husband used to do, he always ordered French fries

at the bar and would line them up in a row side by side and eat them.

And he would always stand when he talked in the evenings and folded a

dish towel, would dart in and out of the house for a smoke and a beer..

It was weird I wanted him to SIT DOWN already, but he always made a

gigantic bowl of popcorn he cooked in an old aluminum kettle with

Crisco, and poured butter on it, man that was good popcorn. That way it

diverted the attention off of him and what he was doing.

Fond memories long gone now.

I drive my wife mad with some of my habits - standing to watch tv,

hanging clothes on the line with matching pegs, folding tea-towels and

hand towels, glasses grouped and lined up, etc. Apart from standing to

watch tv, which is usually because I am in the middle of doing

something, the rest are just to stop my head going fuzzy when I don't do

them.

I do some of that stuff too. those things, it's more OCD than autism I think.the pegs especially.
