My qualm with it or anything else is the preying on people who most likely are desperate/depressed and leading them to believe that it's a 'miracle' of some kind. Ambrotose was most definately not a miracle for me, even at triple doses, but did get into my pocketbook! I recommend it highly for anyone not in a desperate situation. Guest guest
Mannatech: The concept of what they have is fine and essential sugars are a very key part in good body chemistry. No problem there. I really appreciated Betty’s post on glyconutrients in generic form as they will do as much as Mannatech and at considerably less cost. I think that was a wonderful gift to this group. BUT, and this is in large, underlined, bold letters, I have found that no one product should be claimed a cure-all, regardless of who makes or endorses it. I have heard from a number of people who use Mannatech and are more than satisfied. I looked at it, and for a while lurked on their group to see what was happening. It was informative and interesting, but I was not satisfied with what I saw to the point that I would use it myself. Then within the space of about 3 weeks, I had some not so good results start popping up. Right now, I have 2 people who’s cancer began with rapid remission, reversed itself within less than 6 months using only Mannatech. I was happy for them when the tumors started shrinking and the blood work got better which is what really peaked my interest to begin, and now I am scrambling to help them make up lost ground. I have had a couple of others from this group write me off line about the hopes they had and using it primarily as a curative only to find out they were further in the hole than they had been. One of them still takes it, but we added significantly to the supplemental regimen and that seems to be helping. That does not mean the product has no merit. It simply means that you cannot rely solely on one item, especially dealing with cancer which readily mutates. What aggravated me was and is the way it is promoted and the people I am working with both gave relatively the same story where they looked forward to the great “promise” of simply doing this product and all would be well. This does a disservice to everyone. There are more than 200 ways to attack cancer that all have merit. I do not hold the answers any more than anyone else does. I see many, many people who have crippling, chronic illnesses with protocols I could never have begun to dream up that work and work well for them and lots of others as well. I just do not see most of them being promoted as the “best solution”. Everyone needs to sort out what will work for them and in turn should be willing to share the experience, both good and bad so others can learn. Everyone deserves the best that can be done for them, but not to the exclusion of other ideas, if there is merit. But to use any product with the promise or more aptly put “LURE” of being a miracle drug is not right or ethical by any standards. This is what turns the FDA and AMA and all the anachronistic organizations against natural healing methods. We give them the ammunition to kill us. Good Show! Guest guest
Bruce, that was an incredible reply very objective and intellectual. What also bothers me is the price. I have pondered over the products myself but know I would still have to take my LDN, calcium eap, fish oils, etc. I do not believe it is a line of products that are all inclusive. I think everyone should have an opportunity to heal and also make a living but not by getting rich at others expense. Kathy RE: [low dose naltrexone] Re: Mannatech Fraud?? Guest guest
Hi Marcie, I was using the Mannatech products both for me and my wife...It cost over $700.00 a month for the two of us. I have since found the following recipe to make the powder.........For $30.00 a month !!!Things are tough enough for MS'ER'S without this financial burden Regards & thank you. Tom Glyconutrient PowderHere are the powders, the glyconutrients they contain and the ratio for consumptiom (the ratio is by volume, not weight and are offered as a guide only):*1 part ground fenugreek: mannose, galactose ($6/1lb@http://www/mountainroseherbs.com/bulkherb/k.phpI have bought mine off ebay for 2/lbs for $7.00 much cheaper*1 part shitake mushroom powder: N-acetyglucosamine, mannose. $23.16/1lb the most expensive ingredient, and the cheapest I have found.http://healthplanet.com/hph-menglish.html with shipping=$35.41*1 part kelp powder (Undaria pinnatifida): fucose, xylose, mannose, galactose, and glucose. $6/1lbhttp://www.mountainroseherbs.com/bulkherb/k.php-orderedw/fenugreek$17.75Again I bought mine off ebay $7.00 for 2lbs plus $5.00 shipping*1 part whey protein isolate: N-acetylneuraminic acid (sialic acid). ($28/5lb (5.60perlb)http://www.easycart.net/BeyondACenturyInc./Protein_Meal_Replacement.html*1 part bovine or shark cartilage chrondroitin sulphate powder (loose or in capsules): N-acetyglucosamine,N-acetylgalactosamine. 750mg caps-100/$7http://www.doctortrust.comAgain I bought mine off ebay for $5.00 a bottle w/free shipping included.*1/2 part of ground psyllium to boost the xylose content as there is not that much in kelp.($12.10/1lb)http://www.blessedherbs.comAgain I found a better price on ebay at $3.42 1lb shipping was free.*I also add 1 part of lecithin granules as information suggests that it dramatically increases the asborption of the glyconutrients. $4.98/1lbhttp://www.bodybuilding.com/cgi-bin/sb/order.cgi shipping is $3.99=$8.87total*1/2 tsp of manapol: manose inner aloa plant $18.00 100gm jarhttp://www.betterlife.com*1/2 tsp Arabinogalactan powder: Inner larch tree extractI bought mine off ebay for $14.00 a 100gm jar. but here is another source someone bought it at for $16.00 a 100gm jar, http://www.fubaohealthstore.comI am currently mixing all powders together with a little cayenne pepper powder to enhance digestion and extra tonic (1/10-1/20th part) I also add tumeric powder due its great antioxidant properties. Take small amount, I started out with teaspoon amounts and went from there.I use a half cup to measure with, and add ingredients to a flogers coffee plastic red can, and shake it to mix it well. The shark cartillage I take in capsules, one a day.I also add to the smoothie mix 1200mg of buffered Vite-C, and Super greens, about a half scoop, any product, and about 2tsp.I mix it each morning in a blender, I like langers pineapple/coconut juice sometimes I add frozen pineapple or a frozed banana, makes it very tastful that way. Please feel free to print and send this to anyone who wants it.I have stopped using the glyco jam as it is just to time consuming for my schedule. But this is the basic recipe, add or subtract from it what you want, and mix to your desired taste.I would encourage everyone to shop around for the best prices they can find for any of the ingredients as all places and qualities are not the same.Sincerely,Betty Re: [low dose naltrexone] Re: Mannatech Fraud?? Guest guest
Tom, That is a slight exaggeration, since I handled your account, your actual monthly amount was $308.00 delivered out the door with tax, for you and your wife. You had also reported to me many benefits. If you can do it for $30.00 per month, that is great even though I know this is an impossible feat. For me personally I would not want to buy cheap, inferior raw materials to try and get my already unhealthy body well. I tried the "do it myself" route for years and it cost me dearly. Be Well and Good luck. -- Re: [low dose naltrexone] Re: Mannatech Fraud?? Hi Marcie, I was using the Mannatech products both for me and my wife...It cost over $700.00 a month for the two of us. Guest guest
There is no whey in the Ambrotose. Where did you see that listed as an ingredient? I can send you a complete ingredient list and where they obtain these ingredients if you want. -- [low dose naltrexone] Re: Mannatech Fraud?? It was my understanding that Mannatech ambrotose is gluten and dairyfree, though the given ingredient list contains whey. Am I wrong aboutambrotose being dairy free? We haven't tried ambrotose yet, but it's on our to-do list.--- _____________________________________________________________________ FREE Emoticons for your email! Click Here! This board, in my opinion, will be honest one way or the other, depending on one's experiences. To imply that anyone is buying cheap or inferior supplies in order to make a 'homemade' version of glyconutrients is just being tacky! This really isn't the place. All points of view are presented and welcome here. My suggestion is to 'toughen up', and agree to disagree. Like I've said, Mannatech is good quality products, just not a miracle for everyone and is very expensive. Not truly a 'gift from God' as the name implies or else, impoverished people who may be ill could afford it. Let's see the company start a program for the poor, who don't have connections or unlimited funds! Maybe then I'll believe the religious angle that the company stands on.
