Guest guest
Hi, Kiki, I know I haven't been around much, but I do read and appreciate your e-mails. I am so happy that you led me to LDN. Wish I knew about it sooner, but at least I'm on it now. It will be 2 years this November and I have not progressed. I go to Physical Therapy twice a week, same therapist for the last 4 years-she's terrific and can see that I have mot declined. As far as HRT, I don't know if I can help. I had a hysterectomy in '91, but they left my ovaries. I don't do well in the heat and right now hot flashes are killing me. So I am breaking down and returning to my gyno; he had given me a patch that helped a lot with the hot flashes. I don't know if that helps you at all and I can't remember the name of the medicine, so I am really no help. But, I finally sent you an e-mail! Take care, Maureen [low dose naltrexone] OT-for the women HRT? or not This is for the menopausal women...my doc recomended Prempro mainly to protect me from osteoporosis (in case of a fall) My bones are fine now and I really don't like the idea of starting this HRT. Do any of you ladies over 50 use, and what are your ideas or experiences.? I do ocasionally fall, but I lift weights for my bones and I guess it has helped. The doc (gyno) says this is a preventative measure and has recommended for 4 other MS patients. Thanks , Kiki Being it is Off topic You can e-mail me privately Noclue915@... Guest guest
I have hot flashes etc. and haven't had my hormones checked but assume I'm in the age of peri meno since 43. I bought some progesterone cream years ago and stopped using it. What is a good brand and what strength should I use? Seems I read that in Peri our hormones are swinging worse than when adolescence hits and that we are Estrogen dominant in Peri. I tried black cohosh years ago and think it was called Remifemin and was standardized black cohosh and it gave me ZITS b/c I guess I didn't need More Estrogen like substances. Rhonda > Hey everybody, Rhonda is right. Read the new or relatively new book by Suzanne Somers. Do the bioidentical hormones. I have some natural progesterone and testosterone mixed up in a cream and apply it trANSDERMALLY. iT HELPS PREVENT HEART DISEASE, Osteoporosis, improves libido, muscle mass, depression, hop flashes, and bloating. My hormones were just checked and I'm not even peri-menopausal yet at the age of 47. Natural medicine works if you do your research. Good luck to all you women out there. Don't use the synthetics!!! They are linked to ovarian cancer and many other bad side effects. God Bless, Kathy >
Guest guest
Arbon international makes a good one or supposedly my insurance company is paying for natural progesterone/testosterone cream for me. I am going to make sure by asking Skip or my friend Terry the pharmacist that it is indeed natural. I can tell you it really helps when I do the Arbon and the best place to put it is on your feet because there are so many pores it is readily absorbed. You can also rub it on your stomach. It helps remyelinate areas supposedly so anywhere you are numb would be a good idea. The testosterone is nothing to fear either. A very respected alternative doc told me almost every women with an auto-immune condition has no free testosterone in her body. That means increase for heart disease. osteoporosis, no libido, BAD STUFF. don't you find it odd so many women develop symptoms of ms in their thirties. HORMONES are an important part in managing this condition I think. Oh well, I'm not medically qualified to make this assump[tion but there are no real ms experts out there anyway. We are all, even the neuros, making educated guesses and living life the best we can hopefully. Have a beautiful day.
