Guest guest
The doctor that I initially saw at the Meyer Center 6 years ago tried to dissuade me from Keeping my son in an ABA program in addition to warning me against vitamins etc. What a joke. Finally, after sending THEM the research, I hear a few of the Doctors are recommending ABA treatment. I only took my child there to get the diagnosis so that I could get insurance coverage- NEVER to get any real advice on anything regarding beneficial treatment for my son. Basically the problem with Texas Children’s has always been Ralph an—the President of Texas Children’s. He’s a Very old fashioned, backward looking neurologist and has essentially driven away Any doctors with innovative ideas or new ways at looking at/treating childhood Disorders. He has allowed his wife Judith waaaaaaaaay too much free reign. Together They pretty much ensure that TCH will not be a site for any kind of designated Center of Excellence. Sad really. I my personal experiences with Texas Children’s—both from when my son was in Neonatal care, follow ups, speech services at satellite clinics, and getting autism Dx. . . . I have never had an experience that I would rate above a “Dâ€. Right now Texas Children’s is a diagnostic mill that is a part of the problem and not a part of the solution. To my knowledge, despite an announcement with a big flourish, the Autism Treatment Network site is that in name only. I have not heard any call for research subjects for Any kind of research—and they were supposed to be conducting research on Sleep disorders in children—at least that’s what they claimed two years ago. I Don’t know how they plan to do it with just a psychiatrist and a geneticist on board. It borders on ridiculous really. How sad for the children in this area. S. When my son was diagnosed at the Meyer Center for Developmental Pediatrics/Texas Children's Hospital 4 years ago Dr. Madduri and Dr. s both " warned " me that I would be told by other people that my son probably suffers from Celiac Disease, that he would need to take mega doses of vitamins and have mercury poisoning and told me not to buy into it.
