Guest guest
What type of Medicaid program for dental services are out there when they age 21 y/o and still living at home? Heard once they are no longer under the traditional Medicaid program that I would have to seek into inquiring about these programs that will help pay for dental services for when they turn 21 y/o. Most receive dental services through certain Medicaid Programs but most live in Group Homes. Just wondering what was out there? My son is currently under the traditional Medicaid, not eligible for Star Plus due to being under the CLASS program. Still under our private health insurance, is 19 y/o. Doing some homework here as I heard many supported services are not being implemented for when they are still living at home but will help pay for when they live in Group Homes with certain services. This was thrown my way by one of the staff person at the dental office in regards about seeking other Medicaid Programs when he turns 20 so that I could be prepared for when he turns 21 y/o as it is another ball game with dental services. I do not want my son at this time in a group home, many are quick to throw our kids or use to our individuals when they become adults are automatically into group homes. Do not get me wrong, will have this as an option but it better accommodate the adequate services where my son has benefit from and will fit in. Not according to one size fits all once again as my son has fallen through the school cracks with their one size fits all program and had regressed. Anyways just wondering in regards to the supported services not being implemented while still living at home versus group homes, such cut-offs when this happens. I share this here on this list as I know there are group listserves for adults but this is reality and one must learn together to know what issues to learn together as numbers count for insurance policy when that time of changes/laws are needed.
