Guest guest
Mel For some reason your message really hit me. I have read messages like that many times and written messages like that many times but for some reason, yours gave me a different feeling. Maybe it's the fact that you are desperately trying to stop whatever it is you are going through. Sometimes that can make the biggest difference ever. It's really weird the things that motivate us, or takes or motivation away...really weird but I do know that when I am not motivated mentally nothing gets me motivated no matter what.... but, many times I have simply pushed through that. Forced myself to just pop in that tape and get a little bit done. You don't have to finish a whole tape just do a little bit just to show yourself that you can do SOMETHING when you really really want to. It really sucks when things just don't click and then you have people like me telling you to just do it. I am definitely not on the outside looking in at you, I am sorta in limbo myself . I feel great for ! a few days and I do great for a few days but then I lose that for a few days and do nothing for a few days. It's tough but I always manage to come back to taebo. Two basic workouts in five days is something to be proud of! Those tapes are NOT easy by any means. Many times I skip the floor work on the advanced tape, sometimes I'm simply not up to it. Hang in there, Mel. You will get your motivation back, please don't feel guilty about taking a little break. Jenni

Guest guest
Hang in there Mel...... Think of all the reasons why you SHOULD pop in that tape. Remember the adrenaline rush that gives you extra energy for the day......remember the dropping clothes sizes......remember the great feeling you have because you are a conqueror (spelling?). Don't you just stand a little taller when taebo has been part of your day. Pop in the tape and be sure to listen to the pep talk at the end.......his words can make a big difference as to when your next workout will be. Caroline, who just might have to get off her soapbox, take my own advice and pop in a tape now!
Guest guest
" Sigh, I don't like this downward spiral, I've come along this far and I feel the motivation just slip away. Maybe its the inhumane heat that is doing this, but I train in a a/c'ed room so it shouldn't be a problem. My last few workouts have even caused me to take my emergency inhaler. " Mel, even though you are working out in an air conditionned environnement doesn't mean that the heat isn't getting to you. There has been smog in Montreal in the last week, which diminishes drastically the quality of the air we breathe. It is even recommended that people abstain from working out when there is smog (cuz the bad air gets inside also), ESPECIALLY people with asthmatic type disorders, because the polluted air stimulates bronchi and bronchioles. I've been dealing with the same problems as you have lately. Sunday morning, I popped in an advanced workout, and wasn't able to get thru it! I suspect it is because of the heat and smog. Last night, I also was totally drained after my workout (whereas usually I am totally energized). On the other hand, you may also be dealing with boredom with your workouts (that does also happen you know... even with Taebo!). My advice to you... shake things up a bit, do something different, preferably in a pool (but not necessarily), where it is cool and focus on less challenging cardio exercises (which will help diminish the effects of the poor air quality on your lungs). Hope this is useful... Remember, you are not the only one dealing with these issues right now! Janick who is looking forward to being in Quebec city next week to get away from the smog

Guest guest
Thanks Elena, After I wallowed in my self-pity for 10 minutes I went and did the advanced live tape. I kicked myself in the butt and figured I had to blurt it out to understand what I was going through (I hope that made sense ) I have been trying to get new tapes but the Canadian reseller of taebo product has been *out of stock* for over two months now. Anyways, I will pull through. Friday, I fit in clothing sold in teen stores! I am so proud. I can't let myself give up just yet. Guest guest
Janick, I think you hit the nail on the head with the smog thing. I am hyper sensitive to smog and an increase in atmospheric pol- lutants. The fact that I was having such a hard time just doing the workout must have killed my motivation and thus whenever I wanted to workout, I would remember it as being difficult. As for boredom, that probably acted as glue to the whole situation and borught me down. I did my advanced workout today and it was a breeze (well as much a breeze as taebo can be). After I posted the message, I glanced back at your message, and I knew that it had to be smog related, because you had used your inhaler!!! The smog alert has been lifted since last night, hence your easier time doing your workout! If you are working out in the evenings, it makes matters even worse, because usually the smog subsides with the cooler weather of the night. This is another reason why I am seriously considering starting to exercise in the morning (if I can just stop pressing on that dang snooze button!). Maybe that should be my next 21dc... let's see if I have the courage to try! Janick who didn't remember until last week how hot and humid and smoggy it could be in Montreal

Guest guest
Welcome Candace! Yes, I am a chronic asthmatic, have been all my life. Taebo helped me devellop my cardio vascular and lung capacity. It must have increased five fold since I started doing taebo daily back in January. I guess the fact that I was struggling made me feel like I took a step back in my progress. It was a horrifying thought! Plus I am so bored with my tapes, I am dying for variety and northern response sucks @$$... But anyways, thanks sweety! Mel << Hi, I am new here so I do not know anyone's history. Try the videofitness site for suggestions http://www.videofitness.com The 2 best sources for exercise videotapes in Canada (where you can also browse thru the web) are CKsales and Chapters http://www.cksales.com http://www.chapters.ca Janick who now has over 50 exercise videos
