Guest guest
Dear Group, I've now been on LDN for 12 days and still having great trouble sleeping. I skipped my dose last night and slept pretty well. LDN has given me more energy, but energy wasn't really my problem. Not seeing any change in spasticity, in fact, it may have gotten worse. So I'm really debating whether to continue. What can I look for / hope for in terms of improvement of symptoms or reduction in side effects that would indicate I should stay on LDN? I, for instance, am extremely stiff, was before ldn, and that hasn't changed. I have seen enough improvement with bladder issues that I will continue. Spasticity is a problem for me. LDN didn't change that. Keppra has helped with that. Not 100%, but even a little improvement was a good thing. I was having violent spasms that brought my knees to my chest, almost. I can't stand/walk at all. Hang in there! Give LDN a fair shot! Marcie

What can I > look for / hope for in terms of improvement of symptoms or reduction in > side effects that would indicate I should stay on LDN? ========= LDN's MAIN purpose is to stop MS progression, NOT improve symptoms. If one gets symptom improvement from LDN then that is an added plus. You may need to back down on the milligram after 1 1/2 months on LDN if spasticity has increased. Spasticity increased with my first days on LDN but later subsided. If it does not subside then lower the dose. LDN can cause insomnia for a few weeks or more. Many of us used Melatonin taken 30 minutes before your LDN dose. Try 3mg of melatonin and if it's not enough go up to 6mg and if not enough try 9 or 10mg and up to as much as 15mg if neccessary. One takes LDN to keep his/her disease from getting any worse.
