Guest guest
Sherry, you mentioned about having steroid shots in the muscle. I've had PA for 6 yrs. now and been on all the med we are normally given including injections in muscles and joints. I have benefited from all injection. They do not hurt as much as relief we get. I having been facing back surgery again and knee surgery because of severe pain. My neck was too far gone so taking PT for that. I'm going to Pain management and they are wonderful. I've had 2 epidural shots of cortisone which has been a miracle. I get the next and probably last Tues. I wouldn't have believed the relief I would get. It really doesn't hurt. I've had spinal taps twice before when I had back surgery 15 yrs. ago. Our regular pain can be worse. We HAVE to walk and exercise in order to feel better. I am like everyone else " it's easier to rest. " My husband is very kind and loving all during our 45 yrs. of marraige, but he has me walk with him even down the street. He had colon cancer and we went through chemo and all. I will be facing cleaning out of one knee and know that will not be fun. We are the Managers of our bodies and have to make sure we do a good job to keep them functional so we are happier people. Crying and feeling sorry for ourselves will never help. I worked as an RN for 40 yrs. and had to give it up because of disability. I guess I should have filed for it, but kept hoping I could go back to work. We do have to exercise some every day. I find best time is after getting up and work kinks out on the side walks, and go further every day and reward ourselves with a nice breakfast. I don't mean to preach as I have all the aches and pains you are experiencing. I've had this 7 yrs. When people ask how I feel, I answer " fine. " They know I don't but It helps me think so and makes for more pleasant conversation. People don't avoid me. I have been very lucky in getting my Enbrel in 3 mos. supply also. Hope all of you will take and accept treatments to improve your daily living and make sunshine for us and others. God Bless.
Guest guest
Hello <RN for 40 years> Well, I made my appointment to get my cortisone injections. I go tomorrow to have them done. I guess I just figured even if I get a little relief temporarily, it would be nice. I really appreciate everyone's comments, it really helped me decide. The person that wrote me that was a RN for 40 years, may I say to you that I love the attitude you have. I could sure stand being around someone that is so positive. ;o) My pain is in so many places and varies so much, it is very difficult to know why I am hurting. It could be from diabetes, PA, OA or degenerate disk disease. I just know that I really hurt a lot and all I want to do is sleep. Well wish me luck tomorrow. I am nervous. Guest guest
Hi After reading about the Robitussin I went to the chemist(what you call the drug store or pharmacist there) last night. The chemist I spoke to seemed to know a lot about FM and suggested that I try more natural methods for Katy as she was so young. He said natural anti-inflammatories included the Omega 3 and 6 vitamins which are found in fish oil, broccoli, red berries, and to a lesser extent baked beans. Thought I would pass this on as every little bit helps and these things can come from diet. I took my daughter to a physio last week and he has given her very minimal exercises on a fit or exercise ball - basically just sitting on it 10 minutes a day to start building up her lower back and abdominal muscles. The physio explained it is a viscious circle - it hurts too much to exercise and when the pain has lessened enough to exercise it is too painful as the muscles have deteriorated and are out of shape and it is again too painful to exercise. Take care Sue and Katy [

Some people swear by it - I found that it didn't do a whole lot for me. I hope you have better luck for your daughter. It would be great if some of the chemical free treatments would start to make a difference since she is so young.

Oh well, everyone (at least everyone with preschoolers) knows what she's talking about! , mom to (7), (5 on Jan 16th, DS), and (3) >> My three year old (non-DS) said " Hoo Hoos " for " Blues Clues " until just recently. Guest guest
It's tempting, and it's certainly an issue in some cases, but you can't get hung up on beating those prices. I don't know what kind of soap you make either. MP soap usually lacks ingredients on the label because the maker has no idea what's in it to begin with. You have to make a better product, one that's worth what you want to get for it. Health food store people are more likely to read labels, so charge what your product is worth and point out why it's worth it. Traci --------- I HAVE seen their soaps there, and they look like the crinkle cut on the sides, wrapped with currogated cardboard with a label on them listing NO ingredients (such as any butters or oils in them). They are skinny (don't look an inch thick to me), but it says they are 3 1/2 oz!!!!! And, only 1.65 for the unscented, 89 cents to 3.00 for the scented. I am so bummed now. I have a lady who wants to buy 1 kind of soap from me but, for now she has been buying from this very place I called today. And, I cannot beat those prices! Any ideas/hints/tips, information would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks everyone. Alice in SD
Guest guest
Aletha, Next time I see him I will ask. I think he prescribed the 5mg because that is what he has been using with his other patients. If it it too much, I will adjust. Can you quiz him on how they are doing on it.You should increase the dosage if you wait a while and are doing OK with LDN. Most men seem to best on 3mg and most women on 4.5mg. Generally you will know how your body is feeling. The best benifit is 4.5mg if your body can handel it. My husband started at 4.5 and went down to 3mg as he was feeling new areas of tingling and numbness. He does great at 3mg.Best of luckAletha "Go confidently into the direction of your dreams! Have your filler switched, if you're using lactose, switch to Acidophalus(Asid-off-a-lus) or Avicel(Ay-va-cell) and if using Avicel try Acidophalus or lactose.
