Guest guest
It depends on the school. Some will accept medical diagnosis, others will fight It saying that a medical evaluation doesn't take the school environment into Account. The problem is that there really is no rhyme or reason about which Schools accept it and which don't-it totally depends on whether the school Feels like they already have too many kids with autism on their campus already And whether they want another one or not. Remember, a school designation of autism is NOT a diagnosis. From the school's Perspective, the autism has to interfere with your child's ability to learn. Houston ISD accepted my son's " medical " testing with no problem. I think they were relieved Not to have to pay for it. S. Is that good enough for the school? I know that they work closely together. But do they accept a psychologist's diagnosis? > > I would also request during your ARD meeting an Autism evaluation.
